I knew someone would take points off them and I was confident Chelsea would. I reckon Arsenal will as well and so will some other teams. Time to believe!

Both seem injury prone anyway. Two amazing players of course, but it's not like the back-ups are ****!Originally posted by Norbs View PostOnce Aguero and de Bryne are back the juggernaut will be back on track. We need to make hay now and hope that those two have a little set back
I think we're definitely looking for flaws where there aren't many, but that midfield is ageing and if Fernandino picks up an injury (or ever gets sent off FFS), they may drop more points.
Could see them making a couple of panic signings in January now to be honest.

Hope so because I can see Man Utd. being difficult for us as well.Originally posted by Pablo View PostTop!

Only team left unbeaten
We're even catching them slightly on goal difference now
Got a sneaky feeling, against all odds, that Everton might get a draw against them on the weekend too.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

We have a decent rest between United and Wolves, and between Napoli and United, so I doubt we will rest too many.
But even if we start with Mane, Salah and Bobby, we'll have Shaq, Sturridge and Origi available from the bench. Could see Keita being rotated though.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Iv not posted on here for years, but a mixture of the smile that this LFC team has bought back to my face and me recovering from an operation has prompted me to do so!
I'm now 40, so Iv seen a lot of our false dawns, however this title race just seems more 'real' to me.
2009 - We pushed that brilliant ManU team (Ronaldo, Rooney, Tevez, Vidic, Ferdinand) all of the way, but in the end we just ran out of games. They had too much of a lead in Jan. We were never in control of the title, they always had that points cushion.
2014 - Again we was too far behind in January. We went on a hell of a run (11 straight wins) and managed to get top spot in early April, but we were never really in control of the race. The one wobble (Chelsea), put City right back in. We also lacked experience, and were up against a City team full of trophy winners.
In both 2009 & 2014 our good form came in chunks - after January.
This time we've made an excellent start, and have the opportunity to maintain this over the season. I really think that we can do it, but it's one game at a time. I also think that Klopp has played a blinder and is reserving our energy for the long haul. It's as if he understands the PL a lot more now - the previous seasons were trial and error!
For the first time Peps team have genuine pressure on them, last season they walked it. Hopefully the Chelsea loss will have given all of the others hope.
I genuinely think that after City's first loss, it's still a 5 horse race. There are now only 8 points between 1st and 5th. With one of the big 6 playing each other week - points will be dropped.

the few games between now and when we play Man City will be huge.
I also think that if are top of the table in Jan, then the anfield crowd will be even better than usual - it will be full of meeting the team bus etc. That could be a huge difference in pushing for the title.
If we still lead the league after we play Man City on the 3rd of Jan, then I would like to see us play our back ups in the fa cup and give our first teamers (our real important 5 or 6) a week in the sun.
Klopp has played a blinder alright with the squad. If Fabinho and Keita have both had the same 6 month induction that Roberton and Oxlade had last year, AND if they could both have the same type of second half of the season as AR and AOC had last season, then that could be ****in huge.

Yep I wonder when that will start? Obviously I'd expect it tomorrow, but possibly even for the United game on Sunday?Originally posted by frank the tank View Postthe few games between now and when we play Man City will be huge.

I think we need to pick and choose when to do it though, do it every home game and the effect will wear off eventually?

In 2008/9 we had 37 points after 16 games. In 13/14 we had only 33 (and lost 2 more before the halfway stage). Finish strongly like we have in recently years and things are looking great.Football without Origi is nothing

This feels sustainable and not built on lose foundations a la 2009 (no depth) and 2014 (Suarez). We seem to be functioning as a squad and not dependent on one player or having our best 11 fit week in week out.

All it takes is for UTD to fluke win and City to beat us and we're completely out. Far too early to even be amusing ourselves with a title win. I wont be expecting it to happen until its mathematically possible that its ours. Which the negative nancy in me says no chance. We still need a few more players.
