Look at Aldridge here with some first class piss boiling

    [ame]https://twitter.com/IndoSport/status/1089865459174948864[/ame]

"The reality is and will always be that expectations at Liverpool will always be very different when compared to Manchester City," stated Aldridge.

"This has to be an advantage for City and it's an issue that will always be there when one of the biggest names in the game goes up against a small team that has basically got lucky by finding a sugar daddy investor.

"Even though I appreciate City fans will be offended when we say they are still a small club, that is how everyone outside of their bubble still views them, despite their success in winning a few trophies in recent years.

"They will always be a small club compared to their neighbours Manchester United and compared to Liverpool, with the latter two having decades of success that have allowed them to become sporting giants on the world stage.

"Liverpool Football Club is one of the biggest names in our sport with a fan base that stretches to all corners of the world and while that is a tribute to a glorious history, it is also an obstacle to ambitions.

"At City, they hope to win the league and are setting their own standards high in a bid to achieve their goals. Liverpool are dealing with so much more and while you can try and ignore what is happening around you, it eventually gets to everyone.

"Kids in China are watching Liverpool matches at all hours biting finger nails. Bars in America are packed with fans in red shirts watching matches early in the morning and amid all of this hype, City are quietly going about their work without anyone taking too much notice of them."

Aldridge went on to suggest Liverpool dare not slip up as they protect a four point lead at the top of the table, as he believes City will not drop too many points between now and their final game in May.

"There is no room for mistakes as Manchester City are likely to win virtually every game, so Liverpool have to win at least 13 matches of the 15 they have left to give themselves a good chance of winning the league.

"Every Liverpool player over the last three decades has been asked whether they can win a league title and all of them have come up short, with the desperation to see that Premier League trophy presented to a red-shirted captain at Anfield never more acute.

"They will head into next Wednesday’s game against Leicester knowing nothing less than three points will do if they want to compete with City and that pressure will mount as the finishing line gets closer.

"Liverpool need to beat more than Manchester City if they are to win this season’s Premier League title, with the scars of the past 29 years leaving a mark on the club that will only be erased when wait for the trophy this club demands comes to an end."

He might have given them the added determination to prove otherwise.

      It's great piss taking though.

It's been said on here a lot lately that things said by players, the media and pundits has no baring on how anyone plays. They'll be motivated regardless

It's hypothetical either way, but Aldridge is a public figure and this has been printed in the press.

It could be Dalglish for all the difference it'll make on their approach to games

was very calm about all this until the week off we've had.

11 wins out of 12 and only 4 points clear ffs

feels the momentum has swung back to City this month their win over us, getting all their players back and easy cup games to ease them in.

if they get past the Arsenal/Everton/Chelsea week, there is not many teams capable of doing something against them.

What grinds my gears is the way they get so ****in jammy with their cup draws. ****in Burton Albion, Rotherham, Burnley at home (who don't give a **** about the cup as they are fighting relegation) - and now ****in Boro or Newport. Jesus christ. Added to the fact that United have put out Arsenal and now play Chelsea - it all points to them being less likely to play any decent team in the cup. Schalke as well. FFS

Obviously it's a cliché - but we just need to concentrate on our own games. Palace was a scare - so it would be silly to just think "if we can just get 4 points out of our away games at united and everton"

I will see the positive if we go out to Bayern too. We ****in need this league.

Could have been 12 wins out of 12 and 10 points clear if we'd beaten them... But I never felt this would accurately reflect the difference between us and them. Still 4 points clear at this stage of the season and I'd taken it any time.

We'll give them a run for their money and that's the least I expected of us this season.

A few months ago I'd have snatched their hands off at within 4 points behind and in with a fighting chance.

We're in a spectacular position. Still have a tough fight to the end but a spectacular position.

In the fight was also my expectation. But we're exceeding it.

                      They won't.

I reckon Chelsea and possibly Arsenal might take points off them, can't rely on Everton for **** all though of course.

                      Some positve thinking lads c'mon!

So, City now have Everton (a) next Wednesday sandwiched in between Arsenal (h) and Chelsea (h). Whilst I'm not expecting Everton to do us any favours, I would rather they play City now than at the end of the season when they would've been on their hols

It's going to be interesting because should we both continue to win our games, City will have an extra incentive to beat Chelsea on the 10th Feb as they will go top if they pull it off having played one extra game. Our game in hand is against scum on the day City play the Carabao cup final.

Edit: Ignore me. I forgot that we play Bournemouth a day before City play Chelsea.

                          Oh I don't know.

Please let us win the league before VAR come along and makes the application of the laws of the game even more random.

Can anyone confirm if they are now seeing the normal smilies? I did try and contact Paul to ask him to sort it. I've had no reply but it looks like he (or MrM) has done it.
