Excellent article but I am going to take you up on the cry-baby mentality you cite on the match threads

Firstly I think the majority of us are DESPERATE to win the league, we crave it because we have waited so long.

You might not think this but I am very rational person, calm and collected in my professional life and the same at home. Once sport comes on I change (my wife says it all the time ) - I don’t hate any of the players and I know how well we are doing but I strive for perfection from them because without it chances are we won’t beat City. My craving for us to win makes me act irrationally as I suspect most of the other cry arses you refer to do also.

From what I have seen of you on here you are an intelligent guy and one of the most level headed people around. You don’t get phased and have the ability to think methodically mid game when all others are going crazy high on emotion. That doesn’t make them bad people, it’s just how they express their desire for wanting us to win

Football is emotional for MOST people, I’ve yet to see what makes you emotional......maybe a hotel that doesn’t fluff your pillows in the morning on one of your trips away - If you lost your **** over that I’d think you were a cry arse but it’s all about perspective

We all want the same thing here and the ‘pressure’ of the situation makes people act different

I wasn't directing anything at you.

We have several over-reactive, over-simplistic, hypercritical, incessantly repetitive, driveling cretins on here, but you're not one of them.

They are ****ing stupid mate like treacle thick stupid

All you have to do is listen to 606 and you quickly realize the football world is populated by a sea of absolute ****ing dimwits equally there are very intelligent level headed fans who love the game and our team. But we are all infected with the same sickness.

These days I actually find what the manager has to say to be the most level headed analysis outside if the Redmen, Paul Machin pretty much hits the nail on the head for my thoughts on Liverpool and our results 9 times out of ten

          Its a good article Dom.

The thing with supporting a football team is it becomes like a member of your family. You wont hear a bad word said about it, and if someone from another family says something negative (bottlers etc) that you have heard before it hits a raw nerve highlighting insecurities.

          Why are we worried?
Because we have arguably the best chance of winning the league since most of us went through puberty and if we **** it up we think other supporters will take the piss. But thats precisely why we should try and enjoy it. Who gives a **** what City fans will say should we end up not winning it? If you want to enjoy soulless winning start supporting them. This means something to us, I dont get the feeling most of them feel it the same way as us.

So, we should enjoy this moment, accept the challenge, see what happens. Fretting changes nothing. Moaning about things that have already happened (repeatedly) changes nothing. Being cool and accepting the situation, the battle we are in is the way forward. It is certainly what the team need.

It was worrying hearing the exasperation in the crowd when we drew to Leicester, we have the best home record in Europe just now, so to hear exasperation from the stands during a one all draw in the snow was a worry.

We can do this, if it happens we will deserve it. And if it doesn't, so what eh. We go again next season. There is an inevitability in that.

Come what May though (in May) this team will deserve a massive cheer from all of us, in defeat or hopefully in triumph, for being absolutely outstanding.

7th of February, level on points with the current league leaders (and we have a game in hand) plus still in the Champions league.

Yep we are in full on free fall alright.

Personally it is effing glorious to not just be in the fight at this stage, but to be in it with pretty much a 50/50 chance of winning.

Yes City have an excellent team, yes they are getting results more often than not, but the exact same has applied to us all season.

It is punch for punch to the end of the season now, and cannot see how it can anything other than outright exciting to follow a team in that position.

Enjoy the ride guys, enjoy the fight. In seasons gone by we were spellbound by efforts that did not come close to matching our current team at the same point in the season, but this time we are genuinely in the mix, we are genuine contenders.

Maybe there is disappointment coming in May, maybe there will be elation. But it is a great feeling knowing the team is in a position to decide that outcome.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

this weekend is going to be huge. A good win against Bournemouth and the pressure is put on City then.

I also think the 10 day gap between then and the Bayern game is ****in huge.

The united game will be painful viewing. But I actually think we can ****in do it. They have won a lot of games in a row but they've played ****in nobody.

...they've beaten both Spuds and Arsenal in the Cup recently. OGS has them believing in the old Fergie mentality again but if we were playing like we were pre-Xmas we'd still win this comfortably. Gut feel says this will be a bit of a slog given how both teams have shaped up since...

Be lovely to beat them in their own back yard and shut them the **** up.

Thing that scares me about United is they have pace on the counter, something that Leicester and Palace exploited

I would feel more comfortable with Trent back at fullback AND a full compliment in midfield against that kind of pace

                          Just saw this.

Yep, I heard that Pep printed the thread off and stuck it on the walls in the City Dressing room last night.

It's on you Dom you'd best be out there seeking some solid karma.

I didn't see it directed at me but football is emotional and people react differently- why can't we all just get along.

No, I was taking the piss. I am firmly in the nothing that happens on this forum effects the real world camp.

I fear this is a minority stance however.
