The Ajax Spurs game makes me question De Ligt a bit, they got beaten a lot by Llorente in the air, there are a lot of those types of players who would look to bully a defender like that if they think that they spot a weakness there. Maybe it was a one off or he will improve, but given I have only seen a handful of their games that was significant to me at least.

Its a good point, something that'd be a regular occurance in the prem. Maybe he gets away with it in holland, and at international level hee has vvd to help him out.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostThe Ajax Spurs game makes me question De Ligt a bit, they got beaten a lot by Llorente in the air, there are a lot of those types of players who would look to bully a defender like that if they think that they spot a weakness there. Is he really any better than a fit gomez ?removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Like I say I haven't really seen enough of him to know if it was a one off or is a short fall in his game, but that was my immediate reaction after that game. The PL is one of the most physical in game and players need to be able to deal with it no matter how technically good they might be.Originally posted by baitman View PostIts a good point, something that'd be a regular occurance in the prem. Is he really any better than a fit gomez ?The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If only we could have drawn at City too, nobody would be saying 8 draws was too many.Originally posted by Yozza View PostWe drew too many games like we did under Rafa in 2008–09...
It's totally gutting
The parameters on what is 'too many draws' changed completely this season. We drew 11 in that season under Rafa, this season just 7.
Even last season, City could have drawn as many as 12 games and still won with points to spare..

I don't think the points system works then (obviously I've only just noticed this).Originally posted by Yozza View PostWe drew too many games like we did under Rafa in 2008–09...

If we'd have won one more game this game instead of drawing, we'd have dropped points in seven games and them in six. But they would still have actually lost four of those games, so to me our far better season would have only resulted in one more point.
Like I said, this has only just come to my attention, but I've been staring at the table for weeks trying to work out how we weren't ahead.Last edited by Helios Creed; 13-05-19, 05:39 PM.

If we'd drawn with city they would still have won more games than us but our draws would have won us the league

So was Gomez when he regularly played right back but he's been brilliant at CB.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostThe Ajax Spurs game makes me question De Ligt a bit, they got beaten a lot by Llorente in the air, there are a lot of those types of players who would look to bully a defender like that if they think that they spot a weakness there. One thing, people that mention Gomez's fitness, it's worth remembering that he suffered a broken bone, not a muscle issue. If that Burnley(?) tackle hadn't happened, we'd have seen Gomez in for most of the season.
The only downside to that is that we wouldn't have witness the blossoming of Matip. Was muß, das muß.

Well my UTD friends have certainly been unbearable since the final game. Every day its reminders we came second and won nothing. Just **** off already. Same thing every year. And they say we'd be unbearable if we won. I'll certainly make it a point to be when we win it. Just because of this ****.

Overall the gods favouted them for the league.
- game at etihad
- we have more derby games
- one of ours was against united when they were good. They played them when they were **** and de gea... Oh my god
- they were dumped out of the CL. An extra two games in between leicester and burney could have mae a differenc. Kompany may not have been on the pitch.

I got the usual bull**** from them on Facebook. Managed to shut them up quite easily to be fair. They know they're **** but the rivalry means they felt obliged to post something to try and wind us up. Just laugh at Ole.
