Wonder if this is the ideal game to give VVD a rest, he can't play every game of the season, so at some point he needs a bit of time to recover his energy levels?
But, having said that, resting VVD and Robertson at the same time would be suicide, Lovren trying to marshal Moreno would not work at all.

Against Wood and Vokes? He may well need a rest at some stage, but this certainly isn't the match for it.Originally posted by Scratch View PostWonder if this is the ideal game to give VVD a rest, he can't play every game of the season, so at some point he needs a bit of time to recover his energy levels?

Problem is we can look at any squad and pick out players where Virg would be ideal. However, at some point he will need to rest (more so will Robertson, cos he must get some miles in per game) so when is the ideal time to do so? If it's not against the bottom 3, then when?
Having said that, this is the type of game we have to win, so maybe they should start...it's a catch-22 situation.

Preferably at home and preferably against a club who's sole tactic will be to bombard the box with high balls.Originally posted by Scratch View PostProblem is we can look at any squad and pick out players where Virg would be ideal. We don't have that luxury coming up, but if I was to rest him, I'd do it for Bournemouth or Wolves before Burnley. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
