If they want to highlight Salah, then the exact same should be done for any player that does so and those that do it game in game out should be getting a hell of a lot of attention.

Generally speaking, yes. But I understand that that isn't very realistic at the margins, where difficult for an observer to tell. But maybe if I put it this way, I think it's more acceptable (to the integrity of the sport) that little tugs etc form part of the 'art of defending' than it is that people go to ground unecessarily to deceive or sometimes persuade the referee. Now those tugs etc should be spotted and given by the ref and result in 'soft' fouls and pens but I also think the game would be a bit crap if there were multiple pens per game for such things.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

It's a bit of a grey area. If a player is caught in the box e.g. a kick from behind, and stays on his feet, he's applauded by pundits. However, I'd imagine the player's manager, and team mates, would tell him, in private, that he should have gone down. It doesn't seem that long ago that Salah was being praised for staying on his feet whenever he was 'fouled'.
Another MASSIVE game
