Cant wait for this. A nice distraction but still important. They've not been great this season and are laughable at the back at times but seem to have improved a bit since the break and are still Bayern Munich.

Hard to see us keeping a clean sheet at home with the defence we'll field, wouldn't surprise me if this goes a bit like the Roma games did. I don't think they can cope if we are on it but who knows what injuries and illness our training camp will bring beforehand. In to these bums!

That's a great line up there

Milner, Shaqiri and Origi to come on as subs.

Possibility that Fab maintains his midfield role and Henderson plays as CB?

Also, might Lovren make it back for this match?

So how much do we care about this tie? At the moment these two games are unlikely to disrupt our league form...but if we get to the next round and beyond? I know the club would never admit it, but don't we have to prioritise the league? We need our first 11/12 ready to fight like dogs in every league game. CL comes second, right? (I have put my hard hat on...)

Given we are out of the FA cup and the teams we are playing on future FA cup dates are out also, there isn't much a pile up if we get to the quarters. Free midweeks before and after the quarters.

I think it's probably a nice pressure free distraction for the squad at the moment.

Assess as we go I suppose. These two legs are fine then the quarters aren't till April, 7 league games in that time so a lot could have changed for better or worse in the table.

The semi's are mad though. Imagine if we had a CL semi second leg v City, Utd, Barcelona or someone 4 days before we play for the title v Wolves!

We only have this and the league. It's not that many games. No need to prioritise either. We go full out to win both.
