Absolutely agree. Most wanted us to lose. I have no idea where this contempt from them has come from. Its almost like its cool to hate liverpool.

I don't particularly care what other fans think and I don't really think it's worth getting worked up about.
We give as good as we get, we all take the piss out of nothing clubs all the time and don't like different clubs for various reasons.
At least we are relevant, most of the fans mocking us support clubs that aren't relevant and never will be so it's just not worth getting upset about.
Some of the jokes would probably get a laugh on here if they weren't aimed at us.
We'd be using the same jokes on City and, just as importantly so would have all the other fans, if things had worked out differently.
We've got to win the CL though. I would be truly devastated if we ended this season with nothing to show for it.

Herd mentality. People under 30 hating us and for no reason that they can recall. Just this notion that we'd be unbearable if we won it.Originally posted by vlahka View PostAbsolutely agree. Absolute cunts the lot of them. Cards are stacked against us in terms of the league, we need to win on June 1st

The only way that changes is if they get some success. During 60's, 70's and 80's they were a competitive side.
Now they have obvious jealousy at our wealth and stature.
I'd happily take them finishing second if we were first. Problem is they've become so bitter over such a long time it will be generations before it changes. The poison is there and it's only going to get worse in the short term.
Liverpool is a special city and the majority of their fans come from Liverpool. Ours is a worldwide fan base. No doubt there are more reds from liverpool than there are blues. But im fairly sure there would be more Scousers percentage wise at Goodison than at Anfield on a match day. They need a reason to be proud again. Not sure the poison is a positive thing. Derbies used to be unique between the two.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

This is why I've changed my mentality towards English clubs. Previously i was indifferent if a club was successful but after this season and the obvious hatred towards Liverpool has surfaced I wish them nothing but misery.Originally posted by vlahka View PostAbsolutely agree. I was surprised to hear two guys chatting when I took my kids swimming yesterday that they’d prefer City to win because if Liverpool did they’d ‘never hear the end of it’, which was surprising because a. We are in Edinburgh, b. That’s literally the first football conversation I’ve heard at the pool.
I think one was a brummie, the other I’m not sure, but he was English.
To a point the ‘hearing more about it’ is true, because we have far more supporters than city do (and nights like last Wednesday will ensure that remains true for a new generation) but for that to motivate them against a faceless monster like City was surprising.
We are the underdog against city, yet few people see it that way.Modifying post.

I see City fans were lobbing beer over Gary Neville and chanting Munich at him yesterday. Kinda reminds me of blues, they absolutely worship everything to do with Manchester and just get it thrown back in their face, but such is their hatred of us they don't care. Did they not have any Barca flags in their end yesterday? They disappeared quick.
Guess they are Tottenham ones now.
Not seeing much coverage of City fans vile behaviour yesterday by the way. Didn't see much about Spurs and Ajax fans actually fighting in the streets either. They are lucky it wasn't someone being pushed in a fountain or lobbing some beer cans at coaches, there'd be uproar then.
