    Technically and mathematically we're not champions so you're right the term isn't right.

    It's a term like president elect for when someone has been elected but hasn't been signed in.

    We've a way to go yet but thanks for making the race more boring than it should be.

            This is it. Elect in this sense just means 'choice'. Everybody reckons Liverpool will be champions - so Liverpool are Champions Elect.
