Which would be really **** but better than the next option of "cancellation, curtailment or postponement".

What would it do to the players, management etc, if we secure the title, or within a victory of it, and are then told it's void?

All that effort gone out of the window.

In future league seasons, teams winning the title with less of a gap, but we just struck unlucky because of a virus?

It does feel majorly wrong, and somewhat tarnishes the league as a competition.

I think the worst part of any of this will be the inevitable gloating from certain sections of the football sporting community.

Will be tough to take for the team if this is the way it goes.

I guess there is no point in panicking, and hopefully the Italian lock down will help alleviate the spread.

Who knew that us getting good would coincide with the ****ing apocalypse

I just can't figure out the practicalities and financial implications of it being cancelled. I mean, in comparison with a potential nationwide health pandemic (worst case scenario), this stuff isn't exactly important, but....

What happens to all the prize money from the PL, CL etc?
What about the TV revenue, would that still get paid? If not, would it mean clubs ending up going under due to their spending being based on that money coming in.
Who would play in the European competitions in the following season? (assuming anyone's still alive).

There would just be some much to figure out. I'm glad its not me doing it.

Yep - Manc fans gloating whilst their elderly relatives die of Coronavirus no doubt.

If it ever got to this stage why couldn't they just declare season over and we finish as we are. Everyone knows we're the best team and are gonna win it.
                  Thanks very much for being

That's us, but it's the European and relegation places that need deciding. The financial consequences to those teams impacted will be huge.

I just find the integrity of the league a little questionable if we're this close to winning, could be even closer in a few weeks, or have it wrapped up, and it's cancelled.

Sure, but what about the teams currently in the relegation positions who could certainly argue that they could still get safe. You could see challenges in court for that situation.

If we have won the league mathematically I think they would do that for us

But theres so many issues to sort out which would hugely impact clubs financially

                        Champions League, European places, relegation

I suspect no matter what they decide there will be legal challenges

Personally think if it got to the stage of suspending sporting competitions such as the PL, the state would just be frozen.
There would be no winner (even with the lead we have), relegations or promotions. The competition would restart when appropriate, more than likely fresh, with a restart of European competition as per the status quo in August past.

Of course, a huge number of teams would be impacted more than others, not even ourselves would feel it as much as teams vying for promotion etc striving for that moolah to keep in business, but there would be no other way to proceed next season if the current one was suspended.
Even then it wouldn't stop legal challenges, because there is prize money at stake, let alone future earnings.

Frankly, I think the season would be declared void if it got to that stage even if we got our act together and won it in the next few games to be mathematically Champions.
With no trophy in our grubby mitts, it would ****ing sting regardless of everyone handing us the title since Christmas.

Let's just pray it doesn't get to that stage, even if it means the grounds will be empty and no way of celebrating.

If they suspend it then simply resume next season and scrap the league cup and fa cup for that season (and ****ing international breaks).

Similarly the PL and leagues down from it would have no promotion or relegation based on anything that happened this year. 2020-21 would effectively be a restart of this season.

I think they will see this as the fairest way, if they were to end the season after 30 games or so and relegate some teams etc they would complain that some sides have had a tougher run of fixtures than others. We would be the main team to lose out.
