Jaysus lads - we’ll say it again

League winners of the top 6 leagues + holders and Europa league winners are top seeds.

The remaining pots are coefficient based

Same I was quite reassured by that.

Obviously using the experiences of what might not of worked last year.

I just read an interview with Sturridge saying the squad held a players only meeting, talking about scenarios. “What do we do if we go one up early” “what do we do if we are chasing the game with 20 to go” etc. He said it was great and that the squad have never had this kind of chat before.

Also Milner apparently gave a rousing pre match pep talk.

They'll probably not get a chance again to rectify their mistake either

I thought Pochettino making a big point of the entire squad being photographed pre match was a a sign of weakness. Because he was an unused sub once apparently and missed out on that photo.

Seemed a weird thing to make a point out of to me, and to me just anything abnormal should be avoided pre match. That said after walking on hot coals and snapping arrows it probably seemed normal.

Certainly didn’t aid them to a quick start. 22 seconds later pen conceded.

OK thanks, I'm surprised that Russia is the sixth strongest league. And I would say most of the sides in pot 2 are better than them, not sure what the coefficients would show but that would be my guess.

That'll be in the same way Spurs didn't win the Quarter or Semi Finals... rather City and Ajax threw them away.
