I notice Pochettino was quoted in the papers the other day as saying Spurs were much the better team on the day. If he really belives that, he does not know as much about football as I thought he did. Spurs were set up to contain and destroy, and to try to grab a goal somewhere along the way. Those are not really the right tactics when you are one down, although it does mean it is less likely you go two down. But they couldn't even prevent that.

Has to be one of the most comfortable finals you could ever watch. We lead from the 27th second.

I was nervous for sure, but we always had them at arms length. The goal took the edge of (or maybe that was the beer).
Yeah, the realisation as Divocks goal went in that Spurs didn't have enough time left was immense

We pretty controlled the game from 2 mins. If anything that was what was impressive, no kamikaze football.
Milner had a great chance to make it 2-0, missed it. A couple of pot shots from Spurs, then we scored the second. Then Kane took a dive and they had a couple of other pot shots.
We easily deserved the W.
And after pretty much every other final we have been in, to almost savour a win for 90mins was fantastic.

I was sooo nervous, after 2018 so that goal was the perfect ice breaker.
I watched the last ten mins or so and all the post match stuff the other day. Glenn Hoddle destroys the post match stuff by continually bleating about, the quality of the game (Rio Ferdinand even days the final he won with Utd wasn’t much of a game but he couldn’t care less), the fact that Spurs were the better team (myopic) and the fact that it wasn’t a pen (it was).
It’s still the best trophy lift out there absolute class from Hendo - iconic.
I remember some of my united fan friends telling me how dull the game was- talk about clutching at straws!!
No matter what happened in the final, when people look back at it in 30 years, the focus was always gonna be on the Barcelona match!

My wife was away for the weekend and i couldn't get anyone to watch the kids so i invited one of my friends round with his kids. It was a decent afternoon / evening weather wise and the 4 kids had spent a couple of hours outside playing quite the thing. We had a few beers and watched the build up.
2 mins before kick off all hell breaks loose outside and my two are fighting over a toy something or other in the sandpit. Go out to sort it out and come back in a couple of minutes into the game just as Salah is scoring the penalty.
Hope you gave them the belt!
