The train companies are a disgrace. I don’t think it is greed, just large scale management incompetence. Last Sunday, me and my 2 lads were amongst a whole platform full that they ran out of trains for to get us back to Aberdeen after the Murrayfield game.

I felt really sorry for the staff who could obviously see the problem coming and had to deal with the mess. Apparently Virgin LNER had capacity for 2000 people on their 2 trains from Haymarket to Aberdeen after the game, but sold 5000 tickets.

They eventually sorted out a bus and sent the rest of us home in taxis to Aberdeen! Taxi driver said he does that job all the time, Virgin are his best customer. They must be running huge losses.
