JA Riise that is, one of my fave Liverpool players of the past 4-5 years, very rarely has a bad game, is very rarely injured and he gives his all for the cause, he's a 100% Liverpool man, just gotta listen and/or read his interviews to work that out.

He has the odd stinker here and there and is sometimes suspect defensively but in the main he's a quality left back for us, good stamina, decent turn of pace, lovely left foot, impressive upper body strength, good in the air and strong in the tackle.
One of the best LB's in Europe? Too ****ing right he is.

Was just mentioning before how I think he's actually been a bit **** this season, I think he really needs some decent competition for his spot, as he's falling into the same trap as Finnan - performing adequately, and nothing more.

I know Traore was cack, but he started a fair few games last season and as such whenever JAR played he looked ready. this season he's looked decidedly average and his defending at times has been a bit suspect.

Opinions is what forums are all about Morp but i disagree with you on
this one, thought he was poor at Arsenal the other week but other than
that i can't remember a bad game he's had this season.

Plenty of exagerations in your post Mark. Riise in his first 3 seasons could not defend for toffee.
He is inconsistent and prone to mistakes.
Last year he did well, actually his best season for us, but this year he has gone back to inconsistency.
Good for you that you like him but you are bigging him up way too much.

Well whatever RS, i just really rate Riise and always have, think the vast majority of Liverpool do as well, one of the first names to be sung at Anfield. I just like players that work thier balls off game in, game out and are exciting - JAR certainly falls into this category which his ridiculous long
range shots.

Riise may not be the perfect LB, but he has developed into a defensively reliable player, he has a great work ethic, and that left foot of his is ****ing sexy

Yesterday it was easy to see Riises biggest problem, his placement. Before PSV had the big chance at the end there was three or four similar incidents were Riise was lucky nothing happend from them.

But he has improved, and his work ethic is the best. All in all a good player, but top three is a bit high IMO.
