Mid April - that would have us winning it with 4 or 5 games to spare!

So I think that will prove to be a mistake.

But it is great to read all the papers saying the we are out of reach of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manure and the other strong Merseyside team, Liverpool Resssies. Even if I am not quite so confident!
75/76 won the League/UEFA cup double and Joey Jones was the only signing and he didn't play much that season.

The following year Keegan left with no direct replacement and we won European Cup / league double.

Before my time so just checking stats, but doesn't look like Bob bought success, but rather trusted the players he had. Checking different sites, so could be getting dates mixes up, anybody confirm what actually was the case?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

There was also a 'fairly' notable replacement.

Haha I know, my being stupid just looking at transfer stats (https://www.lfchistory.net/Transfers/BySeason/18) without thinking.

The point was though, he didn't buy success.

I'm probably being overly negative. Maybe a bit of pessimism seeping in as I thought we'd capitalise on our success and add a couple of good players.

I worry about us being able to continue the same level of performance with the same set of players. Some of whom who've barely had a break.

I worry if we pick up injuries to some key players that the backups aren't at the level required to sustain the results.

I think the only squad good enough to sustain 90+ a season is City.

I'd love to be proved wrong but I'd say mid 80s is a good guess for us which will probably put us 2/3rd.

removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

                            Fair enough.

Personally I think we need to have a lot of bad luck and other teams (outside of City) to have a lot of good luck in order for them to bridge the gap, but someone made the point earlier about how a few transfers for us made a colossal difference, so who knows...
