It's still my main criticism of Curtis, I made it even when he had that bright game last time out, is everything seems to be done at too slow a pace. He probably needs a run of games to get his match brain going, but when he receives the ball he slows down and dawdles...i feel he's too scared to make mistakes sometimes, so plays it slow and steady, rather than at pace with a few risks taken.

Yeah no way he's going on loan. I'm a big fan of his. Ideally he'd be more consistent but it's easy to forget he's only just turned 21 - inconsistency is normal at that age. Possibly the perception that he's struggling is exacerbated by Elliott's brilliance at just 18. Eighteen ffs.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Jones is already an important rotation option. He is only going to improve and see his game time increase - he’s got the lot except decision making which will come with time.

Elliott is do much better than I thought - his potential is frightening and he seems like such a good lad. We often overhype youngsters but we have some crop (class of 92 ) coming through and if we add Carvalho…… that is some English core into the future

Comparing anyone to Harvey Elliot is a bit unfair really. He's such an exceptional talent. Yes Curtis isn't quite as good, but he's still a big talent in his own right.

Harvey Elliot has the potential to be world class IMO. He's got it all.

Aye Elliot starting to look like a bit of a freak. Hard not to get carried away.

He’s got so much confidence in himself. No fear or trepidation on his return from a big injury at such a young age. And to make an impact and have an influence on the game on his return. The ball stayed mainly down the right after he came on. The thought of Trent, Mo and Harvey working together down the right side is seriously exciting.

Time will tell but I’m not seeing it with him . Coasting is how I’d describe him at present.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I wouldn't send him on loan, but right now I would put him as 6th choice midfielder.

Fabinho, Thiago, Henderson, Elliot, Keita are all ahead of him for me. Also, there is an argument that Oxlade and Milner should both be on the bench ahead of him - with Oxlade more likely to do something in the 20 minutes or so if we need a goal - and Milner more useful if we are defending a lead.

If Fabinho or Henderson got injured, then there is also an argument that Morten would be more useful to bring on too - if in a defensive capacity.

You were singing his praises a few months ago. What's changed?

Where do people see his long term position in the team?

                      Eventual replacement for Henderson?

First choice midfield at the moment (if everyone fit) would be Fab, Thiago and Henderson

He is so intelligent with the ball, he reminds me of a Xavi/Iniesta in that regard.

However, he's also got great dribbling skills, an eye for a killer pass and he has the potential to score a lot of goals himself.

I think the nearest comparison for me is Phil Foden. I think he's that level of potential.

think so, yeah. Can see him floating around a bit more with Trent maybe filling that zone in the middle and crossing from deep like Henderson does. We have a ridiculous amount of flexibility to do different things down that side which is exciting
Sack swinging like Dub-D40 on a door hinge

He seems to be everything I hoped Suso would be.

I do wonder how different December might have been had he been available.

I think that we need to give both Jones and Elliott time. Jones has been around the side for a while but hasn't really had regular runs of games. Everyone is getting excited about Elliott, but remember he had only played about 3 games at the start of the season before getting injured, yes he looked really good in them. If you are a talented player it is relatively easy to make an impact when no one knows what to expect from you, when you play regularly and people are expecting you to play and have been watching what you do it gets more difficult. The transition from promising youngster to regular first teamer at a club like ours is a very difficult one, it requires time and there will be ups and downs on the way. Elliott hasn't experienced that side of things yet, Jones is probably going through it at the moment.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If Harvey continues to develop how we all expect he will i think we'll see strong similarities with how Klopp brought TAA on.

He'll be firmly established in the first team in a season or twos time.
