It's perception I guess. I'd have been steaming if someone like Gerrard had received a red back in the day. He did a lot of similar tackles.

Overall I'm in favour of the new approach of letting the game be more physical. It's not perfect but it's better now a player doesn't get a freekick for a defender breathing on him. I'd always prefer to watch a good two footed tackle over a couple of fancy backheels but that's never going to be allowed again and i realise I'm in the minority on that.

Also interesting that Harvey said the Leeds guy had nothing to apologise for, was an accident and wasn't a red.

I must admit I didn't think it was reckless or malicious. I think the natural reaction when one of your own teams players get hurt is to look for blame. It's a physical game and injuries will occur. Completely different to that cunt Pickford who took out Virgil. That was a cunts tackle.

I didn’t see any footage beyond the initial foul and Mo yelling for the medics, etc but they said ok the anfield wrap that Thiago was lying on the floor next to him for a while to help keep him calm. Did anyone see that?

I reckon they were on the pitch within about maybe 5 seconds. It was predominantly down to Salah seeing what had happened immediately but the speed at which they are around his foot supporting it is amazing

Don't think it was ill-intentioned but the challenge was dangerous. Tackle from behind, side on. It wasn't a clean one footed tackle. Struijk's trailing leg trapped Elliott's lower leg.

Gutted for Elliott. He was starting to look very, very good. Hope he recovers well.

Does not matter what brain dead idiots like Neville & co want to say when they pretend they have a clue about the game and it's rules. The actual rules of the game say it was a sending offence and a pretty clear cut one at that.
