For the love of God ..do you actually expect a goalkeeper who was released by the mighty West Ham United ... released to be clear ... to challenge the best Goal Keeper on the Planet ...
Walk into your ****ing Kitchen ... Open up you Fridge door.... put your head in it and slam it shut 5 times saying Must Try Harder

I expect our backup goalie not be an idiot, not to put the team in bad positions and not to make Sunday league mistakes. Do the basics well and keep the pressure on the #1 guy. So far Adrian is not meeting those standards.
There was a love-in for Adrian when he signed, in direct proportion to the amount of guff that Mignolet received whenever there was a hint of him starting. And yet here we are, three games later and in no better position despite the change in backup keeper - but everyone still loves Adrian and hates Mig despite the fact that they are essentially bringing the same thing to the team.

Sweet Mother of **** ... We signed a No.2, a backup keeper, someone who can jump in if Our No.1, some would say the best keeper in the world right now, got injured. We did not sign a keeper to put the pressure on Allision, because, Ederson, De Gea, Lloris and Neuer were already busy.
Let me get this straight you are calling a player who just signed for the club and helped us win a European Trophy an Idiot.
For ****'s sake man, statistics do not lie, Migs Xg score was that of a sub-par middle of the road Keeper, and he was our Number 1, he was and really never was good enough for us, especially a Jurgen Klopp team. Nothing personal, just facts. Was he better than Lorius, perhaps, but he could not light a candle to Allison and fair play to him he knew it.
He left us at very short notice, when we already had a keeper crisis and we signed a Keeper with 150 Premiership games, is better with the ball to feet and had a more natural presence. He is, 100% an upgrade on Migs and I like Migs.
But for the love of God can you not see, the man has had no ****ing Preseason, playing in a team which heavily uses the keeper as part of the buildup play, played 3 ****ing games in a week, with no pre-season ... and got injured with a Ankle like the elephant man .... he was on serious Painkillers ... you ever tried to do **** any **** on Pain Killers ... you cant even play Fifa sometimes let alone an Actual Premiership game and our players passed the ball far too much back to him, as said by Klopp himself
You call a player an idiot after one week, have a word with yourself and for your benifit, no one is putting pressure on Allison in the next 4 years, if you think we can realistically sign a keeper who can, you either do not understand the game or are seriously deluded.

So you're saying that an understudy's job is not to put pressure on the #1? Of course it is, and if that's not the expectation then we're doing something seriously wrong.

Yes I am and will continue to do so while he makes amateur errors. He got lucky with the penalty save, given that he was diving the wrong way. But aside from luck, he gave away a bad penalty earlier in the game and made a complete howler by kicking the ball straight at Ings. Had Migs made those errors he would have been crucified by the fans. The hypocrisy of the Adrian apologists is astounding.

Adrian is a sub-par middle of the road keeper and yet fans are glorifying him based on a lucky penalty save and despite some egregiously amateur mistakes.

He is absolutely not an upgrade on Migs. That you would claim he is better with the ball at his feet after his gift to Ings shows how disconnected you are from reality.

This is just a lot of excuses for what is, in reality, sub par skills and amateur mistakes.

If you think that's not a backups job either you don't understand the game or you are seriously deluded.
Secondly, I suspect we agree on much more than we disagree on
I dont think he was signed to push Allision, you do, cool
Is he amazing ? No, but he will do a job for us untill Allison gets back I think any kind of critism considering his preparations and injured state is quite harsh
Having a keeper as good as Allision and finding a keeper capable of truly pushing him I would suggest is neigh on impossible
I know we have a boat load of Young keepers which serious talent and I think thats why Jurgen perhaps did not sign a more obvious number 2 ...
Anyways ... apologies dude, obviously you have a point .
Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015 #****CITY
I think goalkeeper is the exception to the rule nineteen. They're in the team every single game unless you're rested. They don't often pick up injuries. So top goalkeepers don't really have competition do they?
Who's putting De Gea under pressure for his starting place? Romero? No chance.
How about Kepa at Chelsea? Caballero? Erm, no.
Lloris at Spurs? Gazzaniga? I had to ****ing Google him.
Stegen at Barca? Neto? More like Lidl
Do you think Oblak at Atleti is feeling under pressure for a start?
