I think people are forgetting the World Club Cup was organised ages ago. We didn't know we'd be in the quarter final of the Caribao Cup and so it's only logical we'd gear up for the former without even thinking of the latter. Again, it's up to the competition organisers to sort out, not the clubs. Tough titties. Caribao gets the ****ty end of the stick - unlucky.

Any pundits or ex-pro's can just **** off with their opinions. Tossers. What do they know, more to the point, what do we care...

Yeah, talking of devaluing the competition that pays pittance whereas the prestige of being World Champions opposed to League Cup champions is a no brainer! (also the money prize helps!)
They should do it like in Scotland by getting this competition out of the way before xmas!
Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

It's the typical self-important, parochial outrage of nationalists. "How could Liverpool turn their back on their own kind and head off to some towel head sandbox? What a disgrace!" ... is what they're really saying.

At the end of the day, the club has never won the CWC and it brings the possibility of so many more markets and fans joining our cult. Of course the club are going to prioritize the bigger competition.

          (1) People forget Man U withdraw from the FA Cuo once because of the Club World Championship. We just fielded a third team rather than the usual second team.

          (2) It was within the EFL's ability to solve this in a way that would've enabled Liverpool to field a stronger team last night and also a first tonight had they anticipated the problem.

That's the kind of comments that grates me. The club might be rating him very highly, if not they are pretty stupid right? I mean, the scouts must be pretty bad judges of a player's potential, or in that case, Van Der Berg's.

Sorry, no offence at you personally, but any kind of comments like this on the whole, is not really progressive or helpful.
              Are we winning?

Mane and Virg almost posed for that meme.

The mother of all ironies would be if we sent out exactly the same 3rd XI then too because we'd already won the league.

Indeed. When it first broke that LFC were in discussions with EFL about finding a date, I naively thought they would actually achieve that. Given how quickly the discussions resulted in two-games-in-two-days, I'm guessing the EFL were complete cunts, LFC couldn't be bothered arguing with them and ultimately decided it would be the U23s in the QF.
