Can't see Trent being rested. Milner may be needed for midfield and Gomez will be at CB. He got a rest in Qatar and is only 21, so should be more than ready to play again.

Opposite for me.Originally posted by Fredo View PostNow we've established a bit of a gap at the top, we can probably afford to rest players for Wolves. Trent for instance.
We've got a lot injuries in midfield and defence. Henderson might be injured too.
Go full tilt, play the strongest team and try and put down yet another marker by beating the team that City just caved in to.
Let's rub it in.
I'd be interested to see if Wolves rest anyone. Playing twice in three days is hard.Oh I don't know.

Wolves have got us, then Watford away on Weds. Then a home game against Utd in the cup on Saturday. Surely they should be targeting 3 points against Watford and beating useless Utd?
We might not need Firmino, Mane and TAA today. Not sure we can do without Robertson, VvD, Salah and Gomez though. My guess is:
Alisson
Milner Gomez VvD Robertson
Hendo Lallana Keita
Shaq Salah OrigiOne tit for another.

Knowing that City will just not put a run of 19 wins together now (not with comical back line) I'm feeling greedy. I can take a draw in one of the upcoming league games if it means resting players for the cup game and progressing. Would love a double or treble this season. Like mentioned above, make hay while the sun shines as it won't shine forever and neither will we have an easier league run in ever.Originally posted by rodo View Postreckon we should go strong today and thursday and rest against that lot in the cup and just take any negative result on the chin we deffo have more important targetsOne tit for another.

this is the thing that worries me is that complacency is already starting to creep into our fan base talk of taking draws is nonsense imo and we do not want to be giving any kind of incentive to city especially when we still have to go there as well as spurs away and also everton will be a different test nowOriginally posted by BigChief View PostKnowing that City will just not put a run of 19 wins together now (not with comical back line) I'm feeling greedy. I dunno about the rest of ye, but I'm going to be annoyed to **** whenever we next lose in the league.
This is a side that deserves to go unbeaten through a single season....already a better side than Arsenal's so-called Invincibles, so I want us to take all that shower have left to big up on their fan's poxy Youtube channels.
A single defeat across 2 seasons would be the stuff of legend.
Focus on the PL.and CL, and if something happens in the FA Cup with a rotated team and a somewhat easy passage, then fantastic."I will make the boys feel your support"

Yeah, but we're resting in the cup, don't worry about it. It's definitely not a priority for us and rightly so. Personally, I don't care if we go out or not.Originally posted by rodo View Postthis is the thing that worries me is that complacency is already starting to creep into our fan base talk of taking draws is nonsense imo and we do not want to be giving any kind of incentive to city especially when we still have to go there as well as spurs away and also everton will be a different test now
We'll go hard in the line up today, although I can definitely see Wijnaldum being rested and maybe Bobby. That'll be the extent of it though. Need to keep the gap up in the league and not rest on our laurels.
