Who is our best player?

One of the things I love about this team is the lack of an obvious 'star player' - or if you want to put it another way, the multitude of star players. Most great teams have one or two stand-outs - Messi is / was Barca's, Henry was Arsenal's, etc.

Whether you want to decide on 'key player', 'best player' or 'star player' is up to you. But with a gun to your head, who would you pick?

An absolute arsehole of a question

For me since we can’t choose Klopp, it’s gotta be Virgil by a nats widge. He’s an absolute colossus and while there are other players who could easily be argued to be irreplaceable, I think he genuinely is.

Other world class defenders could come in and we might well have similar results but I think he lifts the place in other ways too. He’s like a Marvel superhero - perfection in nearly everything he does and has this aura about him like he’s meant to be here, like the history books are already written and we’re watching it unfold.

Dijk, Salah then Alisson but you can move the order around pretty easily after Dijk, replace them etc which is why we are the greatest club side in the sports history. Have to go for Virg though as he’s basically a computer designed centre half in real life. You can pick a fault in any great centre back usually whether it’s pace, not so great on the ball or something but he’s perfect.

Virgil is power and calmness personified, he oozes class and ability, and is able to guide and organise his team mates making the players around him up their game.
Without a doubt he is the strongest link in our amazing team.

VvD is the best CB in the world. Allison is arguably the best GK in the world. TAA, Robertson, Salah, Mane - up there with the best in the world. The rest aren’t bad either.
