Shrewsbury Town vs Liverpool - (FA Cup - Round 4)

    UK:
    Sunday 26th January at 5:00pm

    Australia:
Perth Time: 27th January at 1:00am
QLD Time: 27th January at 3:00am
    NSW/VIC: 27th January at 4:00am

    -------------------

    This is it!

After convincingly dispatching Everton with our Nivea free team, it's onto Shrewsbury Town who are looking to cause an FA Cup upset against the best team in the world.

Should be a few goals and several young faces. I think we'll see a few players coming back from injury too -

    -------------------- Adrian

    Williams ---- Gomez ---- Matip ---- Larucci

    Jones ------------ Fabinho ---------- Lallana

    Elliot ------------- Origi ----------- Minamino
    Was muß, das muß.

    This certainly isn't it.
But I agree fully with the team. Should be reasonably easy if the players don't take it lightly.
    One tit for another.

      Lovren is training also.

      I’d rest Gomez also.

Last nights game looked brutal. It does feel as though the FA Cup is there for the taking though...

        Rest everyone. Including Klopp.
        Oh I don't know.

          Funny, I’ve thought that before

The amount of games has to create mental fatigue for the managers. Still, got to be worse ways to earn a living.

Actually, it is quite funny when you think about it. In what situation would you want to not rest your players for this?

When near the bottom of the table - it's silverware, right? Nope - need everyone fresh for the fight to stay up.

When in mid-table mediocrity? Nope - need everyone fresh for the fight to get higher up the table and save face.

When in the upper echelons? Nope - need everyone fresh for the life or death fight for top 4.

When fighting for the league? Nope - of course not. Need everyone fresh for the title run in. Nothing else matters.

When flying high, crushing allcomers with a 16 point cushion and a game in hand? Nope - we've got records chase, dammit.

So what is the point of the FA Cup these days?
            Oh I don't know.

The only team that can put out a strong team for it is City, hence the reason they have been in the final so often.

It used to be such a big deal. It is a trophy. Its been mismanaged by the FA and due to the volume of games and the financial rewards of staying in the League it has become a bit pointless.

That said, starting with Matip, Lovren, Adrian, Origi, Minamino, maybe Fabinho ain't too bad.

True, with the injuries clearing up, we could start to have a really strong second XI - throw Milner, Lallana and Keita into the mix.

I'm probably in the minority here, but I'd like to see Chiravella start this one. I think he's played really well when he's been in the first team this season, so deserves another go. Plus, I don't want to risk Fabinho.

If Minamino is feeling any after effects in his calf, no way we'll risk him. But yeah, other than that, the team that Shaggy posted should be good enough. Put Jones up top and Chiravella in midfield in that case.

Actually, United might have to play their first available eleven. Imagine if they lose to Tranmere. Ole surely can't risk it.

I put Gomez in there because he needs the experience in marshalling a back line without VVD there. Plus I don't think Lovren and Matip are a good pairing.
