Thanjk you.
Paul.S
He was completely anonymous for me. Especially the first half. I literally forgot he was playing in the first half.
He is a kid though so we can expect that I guess.
He was neat and tidy without impacting the game so I can see how he didn't stand out. Lallana was similar and Fab is way off so the midfield in general was pretty poor
I think he needs more first team action now, as he's good enough for the youth levels, but there's the physicality and tempo of senior football he has to adjust too.
Whether that is a loan move, or more appearances in the first team with us, it remains to be seen. I'd favour keeping him here.
I would have expected Jones to get 15-20 min cameos off the bench but most of our matches have been cliff hangers & for whatever reason Klopp hasn’t trusted him to come on to see us over the line. Now that we’re out of the cup I’m not sure that we’ll see much of him at all tbh.

True. He is 19 though, and he is above the youth team levels, but not perhaps at the standard for first team football.
Klopp did take risks when at Dortmund with using young players, and allowed them to iron out their flaws, so I reckon he'll keep him for next season.
Minamino was 10 yards too far up the pitch so he wasnt able to link the play, needs to drop back and play as additional midfielder until we win possession.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
If its causing you to concede goals then fine but it isnt
In fact it could be argued that the 2nd goal for West Ham and the 2nd goal for Chelsea came from actively dropping off rather than moving up to engage higher up the field
Barkley had a long way to run so we were pushing up. It's easy to dismiss this sort of 'soft' stuff...and just focus on mistakes and events that directly lead to goals....but when we score it never seems to be down to opposition mistakes...and how do we make sense of home advantage, which is real?
I should add that our centre backs playing on the half way line is good when we're in possession - the opposition struggle to get out and fall deep - but it is risky. When we lose possession it is possible to exploit the space behind. It just needs a good team...and most of the EPL isn't good enough to exploit it.

I have no ****ing idea what you are rambling on about with regards to all the bits after the first sentence
How were we pushing up when Gomez & Williams were backing off?
He ran 50 yards without a challenge that doesnt sound like a team pushing up to engage

I have no idea what you mean either. It's about the initial position as much as about forward or backward movement over 5 yards. There was no challenge on Barkley because Fab had been booked. Nothing to do with intensity that one. Anyway, never mind. Communication is hard in 50 words.

Nope watch the goal again, Barkley goes past Fabinho and then Gomez and Williams back off, at some point they should engage him - they dont
You do understand why we should want to play a high line dont you??
