Chelsea vs Liverpool - (FA Cup - 5th Round)

Some simple observations of the last few games vs. earlier in the season:

1) We lack energy and positional pressing all over the park
2) Teams are now doing to us what we did to them - the quick press
3) Full backs delivery has gone right off the boil - wildly over-hitting or hitting the first man
4) Midfield is being bullied - no other way to describe it
5) We don't win anywhere near enough second balls - due to all of the above points
6) We're keeping possession but doing less and less with it - sideways/backwards not forwards at pace

Just my two-penneth...

Point 3) is happening be cause of point 6) hit the fullbacks earlier by playing direct balls or quick switches of play and they would have more time to deliver

Point 6) also allows us to negate point 2)

How was Williams, not read much about him

I really like him, he has no fear. Total zero ****s given! He looked dangerous but defensively got caught out a bit last night.

For me he needs to get more appearances and to learn a bit more and he could be perfect cover for trent.

No we had a strong (ish) team also, but it was the strongest opposition and arena so far for the likes of Williams and Jones, and it showed.

*caveat* Thats not writing either of them off, but just saying they didn't performa as well here as they have at Anfield *caveat*

He seems like a solid player and not brilliant at anyone thing but decent at most - it must be hard being a young player who will be compared to Trent who seems a generational talent

He might turn out to be a decent full back cover, would be great if he could cover both sides

I have no idea what you mean either. It's about the initial position as much as about forward or backward movement over 5 yards. There was no challenge on Barkley because Fab had been booked. Nothing to do with intensity that one. Anyway, never mind. Communication is hard in 50 words.

Nope watch the goal again, Barkley goes past Fabinho and then Gomez and Williams back off, at some point they should engage him - they dont
