Ok, I know that I'm being an absolute cynic here but they just happen to be bottom of the league and they are the ones that need to isolate everyone for two weeks!

Can’t believe nobody’s picked up on their manager’s name.

Maybe, the player might argue that they would get a higher salary after moving as well, it's not an ideal situation but we are in unprecedented teratory here, to me this seems the simplest thing to do.

I will be surprised if the football season resumes in June.

Relegation zone teams seem to be most at risk.

Crazy virus. Good news for our lads that it doesn't go after players/teams at the top at least, not in England anyway.

The Brighton bloke doing the rounds to tell everyone now, is on sky later. Loves a chat this bloke. All convenient timing ahead of tomorrow.

I've said this before but it seems highly likely that once players are back in training and matches are on that there will be cases of players and staff catching it. The question is what happens then? How many cases in a squad, before teams are able to postpone fixtures and similarly how many cases in the league before the league is suspended again?

The plans that came out mentioning testing etc all seemed fine for checking that players didn't have the virus but nothing was mentioned, they also didn't mention who was in charge of testing results. As has been demonstrated recently clubs are in it for themselves. I'm not saying this would happen but if the tests aren't independently verified what would stop a club saying that their players have come down with the virus in an attempt to get games/the season abandoned in an attempt to say avoid relegation. Or much worse if the games are going ahead what would stop a club suppressing a positive test on their star player in an attempt get him to play in a key game which could have serious effects for team mates and opposition players. I would hope no club would do the second of those but I wouldn't be surprised if clubs did attempt the first...

I think this is a problem that will be reflected across society.

We cant keep opening up and locking down. And I dont think we can lockdown indefinitely. At some point we are going to have to go back to work, and the most vulnerable are going to have to self isolate until a treatment is found.

Did the article mention if they were asymtomatic? I imagine footballers would be among the lowest risk, but then they may live with someone else who is high risk.

Should people decide for themselves, or should the government make that decision for everyone? I dont know if there is an easy answer.

Got to be concerned now regarding the restart........multiple positive player tests in England, Spain, Germany (including an entire second tier squad quarantined). Certainly another delay in store for German football it would appear.

There is no way we will be able to fulfil all of the 2020/21 season in 12 months from August either.

We should allow ourselves until next summer to finish THIS season, and if we start to get some games going then create a new cup with like a champ league format to flesh it out.

Purslow argued relegation-threatened clubs’ squads “can’t survive 3 or 4 players falling ill. If Villa had to play a match without Grealish, Mings and McGinn the chances of winning reduce enormously. I’d like a rule that says we don't have to play if our best players had Covid.”

Absolutely desperate. The conduct of these, West Ham and Brighton has been ****ing pathetic.
