Tottenham face disruption after coronavirus outbreak in squad

Tottenham's preparations for their pre-Christmas fixtures have been disrupted by a coronavirus outbreak at the club.

It is understood a number of players and club staff have returned positive Covid-19 tests.

More PCR testing is due to take place over the next 24 hours.

Spurs are due to face Rennes in a crucial Europa Conference League group game in London on Thursday before a Premier League trip to Brighton on Sunday.

Under Uefa regulations, if they have 13 available players, including a goalkeeper, from their 25-man A list, they must fulfil the Rennes fixture, which they need to win to stand a chance of qualifying for the final 32.

The game could be postponed if they do not have sufficient player numbers but all group matches must be completed by 31 December.

It is yet to be established whether the club will contact the Premier League about Sunday's game at the Amex Stadium, but a decision to postpone league matches can only be made by the competition board.

"a crucial Europa Conference League group game"

Would be surprised if it's an intentional ploy to avoid having to play the fixture and get kicked out.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I want to see them out for the comedy value but also because they're crap so having no midweek distraction won't make a difference. I'd rather have them out and not earning coefficient points for future CL campaigns.

Remember the timely 'COVID outbreak' in the Citeh squad during the busy December period last season.

Qatar can just go **** off for itself for a whole plethora of reasons but in this case we will say then getting their grubby fingers into footy is the reason.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Saw this on Twitter, bit of a blow if true:

"Not official but apparently the players who have tested positive for COVID at Spurs are Emerson Royal, Son Heung Min, Lucas Moura, Christian Romero, Bryan Gil, Ben Davies, Ryan Mason and a member of the coaching staff.

Take this news with a pinch of salt."
                  * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Because of the ****ness of Tottenham's squad, not for a sensible reason like protecting the public.

Reports of an outbreak within the Man U squad putting their midweek fixture at risk.

An outbreak in our squad after the Chelsea game on the 2nd Jan would be most unfortunate
