And stop for the Euros halfway through a season?Originally posted by Buzzo View PostIt feels like the opportunity to align next season with the Qatar WC is an irresistible solution.
Give ourselves until Christmas to finish all comps including the Euros for19/20, then basically 11 months to run to winter 21, then again leading to Qatar 22.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Something like that.
Just give themselves time to complete everything. No point pretending we will be back in action in May/June to finish for August, so give ourselves 8 months to do it.
Football is hopeless at thinking on its feet and making things happen.Modifying post.

Finishing it then starting new season in August 2021 and rolling their TV contracts 1 year forward for the "missed 2020-2021 season"Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

That's the most sensible option.Originally posted by Lecter View PostSaw something the other day that Bundesliga are considering restarting their season in January
Finishing it then starting new season in August 2021 and rolling their TV contracts 1 year forward for the "missed 2020-2021 season"
No guarantee that a full 2020-2021 season could be completed in the current climate.
Finish the known quantity (2019/20 season) instead of chasing the unknown quantity.

Wouldn't those who want to void the season realise this regarding TV money? Surely they'll be aware of the consequences? Unless they know something we don't.Originally posted by Lecter View PostThey will have to payback the TV money. Bundesliga put their cost to TV broadcasters at €770m. I have seen some suggestion that EPL would owe that amount to Sky alone and then we have BT and the foreign broadcasters. How many clubs could afford to payback £50-100m not many
Season tickets is a funny one, I have read that there is some small print in the season ticket terms and conditions which mean they wouldn't be under any obligation to payback their season ticket holders. Would be terrible PR though. For me alone with 4 games left I have lost about £200 worth of games on my Season Ticket and then there is my wifes ticket....

I genuinely don't see why this season should be abandoned at the expense of a future season that hasn't started yet, maybe it would be different if we were only a handful of games into it, but we have played 75% of the season.
Surely there would be lots of legal and financial issues arising for alot of companies. Teams such as Leeds loose huge revenue from promotion, teams have lost TV money and paid players wages for a year for nothing, fans have paid huge amounts of money for tickets and TV subscriptions for matches that have been reduced to meaningless friendlies, players have had a year of their career taken away, if sponsorship deals are extended by a year, those companies have had free exposure for much of the voided year... Things just seem very complicated and everyone loses out, it would be a stupid decision for all but a few clubs who want to cheat relegation. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Better to change format of the next season. Problem is everyone needs to coordinate for this to work. We can't feasibly do it unless UEFA are changing their competitions in a way that allows it to work.
I say finish current season under existing format. Keep next season as planned but make a stipulation about using U-21 players lots in a way that ensures we do not burn people out and can complete the additional games. Have a maximum minutes played for each registered player or something.Like blood on iron

I'll give you 3 guessesOriginally posted by Alex View PostWhy are people so horny to void this season to save a season that hasn’t even started?
I couldn't give less of a fuc about football this week or month, but once it recommendes it had better be with 8 games remaining or whatever and with us miles clear. Anything else and we may as well give up
