I was expecting that to be honest, it disproportionately benefits the clubs with big squads, given you need 14 clubs to back such a proposal I couldn't see where it would get enough support. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I like the idea of additional youngster subs to encourage development etc. But it needs to be controlled in some way to stop it being abused by clubs buying young players for this purpose. I think that even if you could name 8 or 9 subs (rather than 7) as long as the additional subs are under say 20 and have been in your youth system for a few years that would be a step forward. Even if you are only able to use 3 subs it gives the youngsters the chance to be involved even if they only got brought on for the last 10 mins when you are 3 or 4 goals upOriginally posted by Reece View PostI think the only way it may have made sense/been fair is if the two additional subs had to be under a certain age and have come through the youth team, or something like that. Still not sure if that would be any fairer mind you

Thats actually a great idea. 2 additional subs for 18 and younger, wouldnt offer too much of an advantage. Benefits of developing youngsters more quickly for everyone.Originally posted by Reece View PostI think the only way it may have made sense/been fair is if the two additional subs had to be under a certain age...
There are always going to be advantages of wonderkids at big clubs, but this gives every club a bit more scope to develop their own.In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

It's difficult to explain exactly what he does but when he isn't there the team is lacking something, it was noticeable in the community shield yesterday.Originally posted by Buzzo View Post
In general I think he is still vastly under rated. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

He’s always available for the ball. His passing is vastly underrated, plus he ‘conducts’ all other elements of the ‘machine’. As a DM he is just as effective as Fabinho he is certainly more mobile. He is probably our best presser and tackler. All you could accuse him off is not scoring enough goals.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostIt's difficult to explain exactly what he does but when he isn't there the team is lacking something, it was noticeable in the community shield yesterday.
As well as imposing his own game on performances I think he makes every other player perform their own job to a higher level. Putting it simply, nobody understand the overall function of every position in the team as well as Hendo.
He understands exactly why the sum of the parts is greater than the individual. And he is easily our most vocal onfield presence.Last edited by Buzzo; 30-08-20, 09:16 PM.Modifying post.
