Does 10 points seem reasonable, or is even that optimistic?

Even with that, Leicester would need only 2 wins and for Chelsea 2 wins and a draw would guarantee finishing on more points than Liverpool.

Top 4 is settled imo.

I think we need to take 13 to make it interesting. Doable but very unlikely unless Mane and Firmino suddenly remember where the goal is (and Jota, but he's got the excuse of coming back from injury).

I’ve mentally cashed in on this season now. I think we all need a break from it. The players and the fans. Roll on next year.

The manager and players all need a big rest in the summer. Then ship half a dozen out (Matip, Shaq, Origi, Minamino, Keita, Gini if he wants to go), get three more in (Kabak, another CB, a striker) and go again in August with the fans back. If we are out of Europe it may even help us for a year (though we could play the kids in the Europa until the latter stages).

And the thought of being in the Europa league. Thursday games in the furthest reaches of Europe. Nightmare. And it will have a major negative impact on our transfer policy in a window we will probably need a major rebuild.

If we beat Utd the faint flicker of hope will remain. If not then it’s done.

Looking for any other positive, it would be good to get Europa. We could give some of the squad players more game time and it would be a very winnable trophy, also one that we haven’t won. I think Utd have reasonably successfully brought players through and built confidence in the Europa.
