I don't think the getting injuries is really down to bad luck. Many of them were the type of thing that you would expect, the Henderson, Fabinho, Keita, Ox etc injuries are the type of thing that you normally pick up every season. It's the number of them that is really the concern and this has to be down to the dense fixture schedule. Obviously the Covid cases are unique to this situation, fortunately so far they have just been the odd player.
Where we have been unlucky is that all the injuries seem to have come in the same positions on the field in such a short space of time, in about a month we have lost VVD, Gomez, Fabinho and Matip was out but came back, that's all of our 4 senior CB options.
The decision to pack so many games into such a short season was stupid, and the decision to send players away on international duty in the current climate is beyond stupidLast edited by Exiled_red; 14-11-20, 09:12 AM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I'm not saying that they are normal, but they do happen from time to time. The VVD injury could happen to anyone whether they normally get injuries or not. It was a dangerous and stupid challenge that put him out.Originally posted by RedReet View PostTwo season ending injuries this early in the season is hardly the norm. Particularly if one of them is for a player who never gets injured.
The Gomez one again they happen, and become increasingly likely when players aren't getting appropriate amounts of rest. Sadly these injuries are inevitable (and normal) this year and there will be more to come hopefully not as serious though...
Where we have been unlucky is having two serious injuries in the same position just weeks apart. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

On a serious note I hoped at the time that we’d keep Grujic & train him as a CB & now I’m livid that we let him go out on loan yet again.Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.
