    Should liverpool sign Messi?

Tme worlds greatest player is on the market. we have just won the league. One year after winning the champions league. We have the best coach in the worlfD.
He costs 80million per year. He has two years left.
    He will sell 500000 shirts.
    Liverpool could win the league.
    Do the maths.
    Messi is worth sigining
Klopp is wrong on this one.
    The numbers are ok.
    Sign him up now!!
Jacques Brel is alive and well and playing at Anfield

I'd be sick if we paid anyone £80million a year, it's obscene

We won the league without him and have a better chance of doing it again without upsetting the balance of the squad

Can’t believe FSG got the numbers wrong.
You should show them your working out. It’s not too late.

So half a million shirt sales will give us about £7M of revenue I believe (bases on 20% from sales).

What maths have you done that it would make sense ?

That's the reason I can see City going for him, to improve their fanbase and brand around the world as they have **** all outside of Manchester. I bet they hate that we have a beast of a following.

I think he'd be a good replacement is Shaq leaves. We need a strong squad if we're going to mount a good challenge on more than one front and he could start all the league cup games.

Klopp's right the numbers don't add up, £80m a year in salary alone would see us make a significant loss, shirt sales may offset that a little, but you'd still be looking at a being over £60m a year worse off, even if we could sign him on a free, and that's before everyone else in the squad wants a pay rise because he's on 10x what they are on

It won't possibly happen but if Messi said he'd take 200k per week we should be all over it. But he won't so that's that.

I don't know if you've been in a coma but we have won the league. All without spending well over a £100m on wages for a few years on a player with no resale value.

He’s burnt his bridges with Andy Robertson anyway so no chance. I don’t want him either, the cunt.
                      Are we winning?

I can’t see Klopp being interested if we are to believe the diva attitude of Messi that gets talked about so much like having influence over managers being sacked etc. It’d not be good for team harmony if all that’s to be believed.

As good as he is he’s not worth it for us. He’s a tyrannical little cunt behind the scenes and would wreck the squad harmony that os such a huge factor in our success. We are not a short term club, we build with the future in mind and getting Messi would be the antitheses of that approach

I think there is a high risk of this where ever he goes.

He’s got an entourage FFS. He will earn more than large swathes of any squad put together. He’s used to entire clubs being set up round him.

Who ever signs him is not getting the best ever version of Messi.

He's a great player, but even putting aside his wages and the associated costs I think that bringing someone in with an ego like his will ruin team spirit which this group of lads seem to have and has been key to our success.
