6 League games and 2 Champions League games in December as it is.
We didn’t need another reserve team cup fixture among all that anyway.
      Concentrate on the real competitions.

For me out best player was Rhys Williams
agree with most of that other than Grujic who i thought was good in a very average mid 3.

i think Div & Wilson won't play again for us, not just because of tonight; but because there are simply not at the level we need to be.

            I hate losing.

Thought it's a shame Elliott didn't play, he's always prepared to take a player on.

Strange playing Salah who did the grand total of **** all.

Origi is rubbish, hopefully we move him on. He's a hero and rightly so but he's very average. Offers nowt 90% of the time.

I didn't fancy us in the pens.

Never mind, just means less games for a few of the fringe players.

Origi's level has dropped significantly the last year or so, before that he looked confident and capable of getting involved and scoring goals, now he just looks lost.

It's the first time I've seen Wilson play for us, I thought from the highlights of his games at Bournemouth that he might have had something to offer, but not based on that performance, ok it could be a one off as no-one played well but still.

We need to just keep him for the Everton matches.

Shame but we would have only fielded the youngsters in the next game and probably got knocked out anyway. Taking unnecessary risks with the likes of VvD, Salah, etc on the way.

If Klopp truly wanted to win he wouldn't have played a midfield of Wilson and Grujic. It's asking for a beating. Keita alongside Jones and Minamino (who didn't have a clue where he was supposed to be playing) would have done the business. So I doubt Klopp is too fussed despite starting VvD and Salah tonight.

I don't understand the decision to play Wilson ahead of him, particularly if Wilson is being moved on. Wilson is further ahead in his development than Elliott so I was hoping that he would do something to prove me wrong, but alas he didn't I thought he was poor.

Wilson is what you call a flat foot player. He doesn't mean to be so aloof on the pitch but it's in his DNA. I play with a friend like that and he just doesn't get it, or gets it but can't do anything to change it.

Well none of those players can really complain about lack of football either - they killed their chance of getting more of it. Can't say anyone really made a case for themselves.

Minamino really didn't cover himself and glory and that miss was dreadful.

Chill out man, they’re a mid table team, why shouldn’t they get excited about going through in one of the two competitions that they actually have a chance of winning?!

5 years ago, when we weren’t anywhere near challenging for the PL or CL, we’d be happy to be progressing in it too...

So positives........ Rhys Williams thought after 1st 10 was very composed; Grujic thought was good, Jones another 90 mins under his belt, Taki worked his socks off, Jota a good 70mins
