Maybe. But would depend on Thiago and Matip's fitness.

We are so lucky we got a favourable draw for the CL this season. Initially I wanted a stronger group so we could knock out some heavyweight (ideally Atletico) but now phew. Chance to not only rest players but blood in some emergency cover players like Rhys and also some free hit game time to Taki and Firmino to get their ****ing **** in order.
      One tit for another.

Poor game but a few stand outs.

Jota definitely looks a player, was quiet but stepped up for the goal and had a couple of other decent moments.

Trent was back to his usual level of brilliance - some terrific passing.

Becker - enough said, top class.

Minamino seems to take one step forward and three back. Very disappointing tonight.

An absolutely **** performance but it'll do. Hope we go back to 4-3-3 on Saturday and Thiago and Keita are back. That'll freshen things up big time.

I suggested the same last week.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I really thought it had clicked for him at the start of the season, he had a couple of really good performances but he's gone back to the lost player who didn't really work with the system

It's probably been said, but i hate it when we make wholesale changes t othe front line, I'd rather see how Jota/Mini play alongside 2 of the established front three. Chucking them all on like that makes us look so disjointed and does none of the players any favours.

But I guess it rests people.

That is obviously the ideal situation for them, but we need to rest players this season in particular. The other thing is that they are all decent international players, it's not like at the start of last season where if we did something like that it was Origi plus two kids. All of them have experience in the CL before (Jota probably the least of the three). For me Minamino and Origi were anonymous they had almost no impact on the game at all.

It was apparent with both him and Origi last night that there first touch was off. There were plenty of occasions when they received the ball (admittedly in tight situations) but their first touch meant they lost it or that the attack stopped dead.

We definitely take for granted our front three's first touch, which it nearly always brilliant.

As Klopp pointed out though afterwards, Div is desperately short of match time, and rhythm and touch come with playing.

Also it helps none of them being chucked into an attack full of changes. It's much fairer to judge them on full strength side with say one of the front three missing, with Minamino or Origi or whoever coming in, and obviously much easier for them to show their worth. Felt sorry for Taki and Divvy last night tbh.

edit - Scratch beat me to it ffs

I think it is something that most of them are probably going to have to get used to if they are going to play. As I could imagine what happened last night happening a few times if they had played well, but given how it went I'm not so sure. Jota is clearly the one who is going to play the most of the three of them with the main guys, then possibly Minamino. If everyone stays fit I don't imagine Origi getting many opportunities to play with the likes of Salah and Mane at all.
