Yes 0.9 x 2 = 1.8, which would be their total payout (Im just going off the figure that someone posted above)

      - Runner up in the FA Cup and you get £900,000

So a win in a single game against minnows in the group stage of the Champions League is worth more than winning the FA Cup, and loads more than winning the League Cup. And a single point in the group stages is worth around 8 times as much as winning the league cup, and not far off the prize for getting to the FA Cup Final.

Based on that, we should be looking at a few experienced players playing.

I think the flaw in your logic, is that you seem to be basing your analysis on a hypothesis that klopp will rest players in the champions league, so that they will be fresher for the cups?

We are one of the few teams that have a decent chance at winning the champions league - focusing on 2.7m prize money for a one off, otherwise meaningless game, would be shortsighted... we need to give ourselves the best chance at winning the champions league and/or premier league- and risking more injuries, jeopardizes that...

No. I'm not saying he'd rest players for the cups at all. I'm actually saying the opposite - that we treat the cups as an opportunity to rest players for the more important games in the league and Champions League.

Even in those games we tend to pick a few experienced players rather than an entire team of kids though, e.g. VVD alongside Rhys Williams, Milner or Hendo in midfield with the kids, one of the front three plus Origi in the front line etc.

So, I'd expect to see something similar for a game like this. Especially given the prize money relative to those cup games, which makes this much more valuable to the club. A few experienced players and 6-7 youngsters would be my guess.

          Something like:

Kelleher, Neco, Rhys Williams, Koumetio, Tsimikas, Cain, Henderson, Keita/Clarkson, Jota, Minamino, Origi

£2.5m or whatever it is sounds like a lot and under normal circumstances I'd be up for putting a half and half team out, a few first reamers mixed in with the likes of Minamino, Tsimikas, Origi and maybe a couple of kids. But with the fixture scheduling this year and the serious threat of injury from over playing it's madness to risk it for what (in the footballing context) is a relatively small amount of money, potentially endangering our league form (where a place in the table is worth more than that).

Also IMO the manager should be the one picking the team with I put from the sports science guys etc. I don't the the board room and financial decisions should be coming into it at all for a club like us
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If every LFC supporter in the world coughed up to buy this season's home shirt as an Xmas present for someone we'd be sorted financially for a while. We should start a campaign...**** charity...give to LFC...

That is just prizemoney. TV money will be big too.

                Plus gate receipts.

I don't think the club would dare to try to mess with Jurgen's team / squad usage. We've won 4 of our 5 games already - so that is over 10m in prizemoney gone into the pot in the group. Plus TV money.

I genuinely hope that we just see kids out there. Also, who is to say that Midegyland (or whatever they are called) don't rest a few for their league games too. It is a dead rubber for them too.

Just hope there are no injuries, no ****in Covid, no drama.

Echo: Firmino picked up a problem with his right foot at the club’s AXA Training Centre in Kirkby on Monday afternoon

I saw this on Mondays training video. He was just kicking the ball about with a few others. He then stopped when the physio came out and went over to him, he was not limping. He was showing the physio something on his right foot. The training video was redirected to try and keep it off camera

I had herrings for tea last night.
                              3rd place. Worst champions ever.

                                I'd go something like this:

                                Kelleher

                                Neco
                                Williams
                                Koumetio
                                Tsimikas

                                Keita/Henderson (45 mins each)
                                Clarkson
                                Cain

                                Minamino
                                Origi
                                Jones
