    Perspective

No team has ever won the title with a minimum of 5 first choice players unavailable for most of the season and often it's more. VVD, Matip, Gomez, Keita, Jota, Allison, Mane Fabinho are all out. Hendo, TAA, Milner, Thiago, Ox have all also had long periods out.

Only TAA, Robbo, Thiago, Milner, Ginni and Salah played in their correct positions tonight. Desperate times.

    Perspective please !

This is all the perspective/context you need

I’m watching football for years and I don’t remember a side ever having an injury crisis like we’ve been having. Everything around our form needs to be factored into that perspective

All true, but it's also true that we are underperforming with the players we do have, and Klopp doesn't seem to be able to fix it against sides who defend deep and keep spaces tight.

still no excuse for dropping 14 points against the bottom 6 in 7 games imo.

          Agreed.

Every game is a battle and we have turned up more times than not thinking it will all fall into place as we are Champions. Need to earn the right for a win.

I think the bottom teams approach to playing us is the same, regardless of the team we put out. With our best players available we win those games, without them we don't and the games are sterile boring affairs.

Put it this way, a more adventurous Brighton from the kick off would've probably lost but once they went ahead they were the most likely to score again.

Most of the time against teams which sit back, it’s a boring game when we barely get out of 2nd gear but still win. Well, last year’s team minus the injury nightmare we’re in, would have done just that. One or two players off would not have stopped us winning the game as others would come up with the spark.

So I guess the perspective is that next year we hope we don’t have as much bad luck and we should be back to our best.
              Are we winning?

It's so frustrating how they've all used the same blueprint to stifle us. Every game has run the same course. Every opposing player has had the same instruction/task.

Yep. It's like watching the same game over and over. You knew they were going to nick one 2nd half and you knew there was zero chance of us scoring.

It's not just the injuries. Teams have worked us out. That team last night was so slow and predictable. We need to evolve our play in games like that to break teams down because its just not happening. We were still ok against teams that were more open even with our injuries.

The plan is every player behind the ball, let us have all the possession, eventually we get tired or become complacent then hit us on the break or a set piece. Works every time.

The tools we had last season just aren't there to combat this style of play.

We're desperately missing Henderson's drive, passing ability and forward running in midfield - the sooner we shift him there the better.

In tight / frustrating games we've previously had tremendous ability at set-plays to break down a team - either a direct header from VVD or the chaos that comes from a scrambled clearance. We are currently so piss-poor in the air, we've lost totally this attacking strength.

Breaking the lines - we've been superb at our CBs quickly switching play VVD or Gomez bursting forward and drawing a deeper lying player, creating a bit more room.

We shouldn't underplay the impact of a packed Anfield - not only on our players but also the opposition - the pressure cooker, where we've been so good into forcing a player into a mistake - well, it's lifeless and sterile. It's no surprise, to me, that we would suffer the most from not having a packed stadium. The club for years has relied on the crowd to raise the game of our players and to crush the spirit of the opposition.

The bedrock of our team is Alisson-Virg-Fab-Hendo. It's been ripped out. No great surprise we're struggling to me
