Gary being told in his earpiece to dial it back
They would be better advised to speak in 5min spurts around all this, as left to ramble for an hour they show up how little they know of how professional football is governed as an entertainment industry."I will make the boys feel your support"

I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

No sympathy for any of them, they're all part of the problem.Originally posted by foresterbloke View Post**** football in the arse, sounds like all the money used to prop up football has caught fire and it's falling down around their ears.
Whilst the rest of us are earning average natonal salaries, fighting for inflation equalling pay rises, the players are negotiating for pay rises of 10, 20% + whilst already earning tens of thousands of pounds. Managers are walking away with golden handshakes of millions of pounds for failing.
It stinks, top to bottom and this was all just a matter of time. I can't listen to any of them pretending they care, feigning innocence, its bollocks.Glass half empty club

It's been all about money since '92Originally posted by foresterbloke View Post**** football in the arse, sounds like all the money used to prop up football has caught fire and it's falling down around their ears.
Not sure why this is a surprise to anyone.
Pre season tours to Far East / US
3 new kits a season
Club branded toothpaste
Official club paint
4 places in the Champions league
Domestic TV contracts in excess of 5Bn over 3 years
And on and on
Everything about the game at the highest level is designed to ring as much cash out of the fan as possible
Here's one thing that the likes of Neville and Carragher haven't touched upon. They came into the game just as the serious money started flowing. Wages rose exponentially as a result and they made more.than enough money.duri g their careers to last them several lifetimes.
Are they now looking to deny the next generation similar opportunities to earn as they had?
What we're essentially seeing is the natural evolution from what the Premier League set in motion in 92 and UEFA did.with it's expansion of the.Champions League.Last edited by spud_gun; 19-04-21, 11:28 PM.

Only throughout that you qualified through merit. Now it's a closed shop. Yes this is all inevitable but doesn't mean it's right and I'm surprised and disappointed how many people seem to think it's acceptable and whilst not necessarily condoning, certainly not condemning the plans either.Originally posted by spud_gun View PostIt's been all about money since '92

But then I've seen plenty on here give up on the national cup competitions years ago as they deemed them not worthy, basically sticking their fingers up at the rest of the football pyramid who rely on them. Snobbery.
There's a lot of labour supporters on here, surely the idea of all this should be against everything you stand for.
Anyway I'm nearly 45, I've stopped watching the games during lockdown as its a soulless experience and var has taken away the emotion, although I follow the results advidly. But now I'm not even bothered with those.

Ultimately, it’s a game. This is all about the structure/organisation of a game. I’m too old and have too many things on my plate to actually care about the long term fairness of football. In a broken world, this is not what’s going to keep me awake at night.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostOnly throughout that you qualified through merit. Now it's a closed shop. I want it all to end up in a better place, and am fairly sure this league will not happen. But ultimately am not going to get outraged by it.Modifying post.
