That’s nonsense. We had owners who couldn’t refinance their loans and almost took us into administration. This situation is not like that at all.Originally posted by Fredo View PostNeville has always been critical of the Glaziers. He never liked them and has always been vocal about it. This is not hyperbole and can’t really fault them for protesting which is apparently, being a peaceful one.
We as Liverpool fans have been there before, so that would be hypocritical of us not to understand their stance.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Or was Carragher behind the fans that protested H&G?Originally posted by spud_gun View PostSerious Q- was Sky and Neville so veciferious when Hicks and Gillette took us to the brink of liquidation?
Has the knife stuck into FSG but where was his loud mouth when H&G were ruining the club? Og right he would look the other way and get a fat pay rise.
****ing nerve of him to say that Liverpool fans did the same at Anfield as what is happening at Old Trafford today.
The police being pelted with bottles, the ground broken into, property damaged, flares fired at the box with the Sky presenters in it and Carragher ****ting on about how he cannot condemn the actions of the Manc fans today as he says Liverpool fans did the exact same ten years ago.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Seems to be a bullet point on Sky whenever this topic comes up.
Yep they are trying to say the ESL was an attempt to leave the PL and have being saying that for a couple weeks now. Just peddling whatever narrative suits them regardless of the facts.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Funniest bit is him today complaining about rich owners coming in and taking away the soul of a club but only in the cases of Man U and Liverpool of course.
Not a peep about the club he played for.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Aye....if its said often enough, the great unwashed will soak it in and not even question every time its said.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostYep they are trying to say the ESL was an attempt to leave the PL and have being saying that for a couple weeks now. I think I can only recall one discussion about how it would affect the PL going forward in a considered fashion.........and that wasn't on Sky."I will make the boys feel your support"

In a sense it’s worse as what threatened to happen a few weeks ago would have affected European football and the game on a wider scale. Are we winning?

NBC reporting a stand off at a hotel that one of the teams are at as "protesters" are there throwing stuff.
Neville still claiming the FSG tried to furlough the players and Carragher saying nowt to contradict it.
Better off if our lads just get on the coach and head for Liverpool. **** trying to get through mobs and then going to a ground and hoping people do not break in during the game.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Security at Anfield during covid is watertight, I can't believe the rubbish fencing and staffing used today when they had the advanced notice of the protest.Originally posted by Jaco_Pastorious View PostJust as well this is not happening at Anfield, otherwise there would be widespread condemnation of what was happening.

On NBC, footage of a police officer being helped away with a bloody head. Footage of bottles flying and barriers being thrown. Footage of a stand off at a team hotel. Footage of camera stands etc being smasjhed inside the ground.
On Sky...Neville and Carragher saying it is just a peaceful and justified protest.I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

I’m not watching, but I’d have thought anyone not condemning this will be on pretty dodgy ground. Given the history of crowd trouble. Saying that this is an acceptable protest sets precedent. When fans return that could cause some problems.
It’s Nevilles team so he is clearly going to say it is peaceful. As mentioned not sure the narrative would be the same if this were happening at Anfield.Modifying post.
