Last night was a poor performance, no doubt about that, but we should have gone into the game 3 points behind. The Leeds game cancellation doesn’t make sense considering they essentially handed 3 points over to City the week before (and Arsenal too) having to play understrength with Covid/injuries.
I’m not saying we’re the only side to have been affected by the outbreak but just that some teams have benefitted more than others. That is clear imo but it is what it is and we just have to get on with it now.

They set up deep to swamp our attacking threat and patiently waited to counter at pace. I thought those days had passed to be fair but it's not the first time that a team has beaten us with their only shot on target

We can deal with that if everyone is on it, but they weren't yesterday, they looked like they'd been on the bevvy the night before. First touches were poor, misplaced passes, lack of concentration. It happens.

The ball out of defence was too slow but I couldn't tell if that was a lack of movement up front or our defence being pensive, or something else

The balls from defence were unusually poor. Always going to a Leicester player instead one of our own. Hendo, Ox, VvD were particularly galling. After a period of this we stopped going for the quick ball to avoid losing possession so quickly. Once that happened momentum was gone.

In games like this we have to rely on our supermen to save us. Alas, Salah and Mane couldn't.

And no doubt we'll get that game rearranged when Leeds are back to full strength.

Also, have City had one case of covid at all? I don't recall hearing about any of their staff or players getting covid. Literally every other side is getting affected, but City don't have one case and are just battering teams aside as they're struggling to field a team. Reeks of dodgyness to me. Theyve covered **** up in the past with brown paper bags. Nothing would surprise me with this lot.

We need to go all out for top three, League Cup and Champions League.

Yes anything can happen but City won't be dropping many points.

Only way we get a chance is to not drop any more stupid points and beat them at their place. VAR has also cost us, hopefully that will level out.

It really does seem that way, over the past few years when we've come back from "holidays" or a "break" and looked way off it. Very annoying

City were lucky to get a win last night. They aren't as good as they're made out to be. Strength in depth tho.

To be fair they are pretty damn good, they weren't at their best last night but won and also had 2 goals disallowed last night. The squad depth is a huge factor but they can score and assist from so many different areas of the pitch, that's why they are so hard to contain. It's not a level playing field and I have no doubts they will strengthen again in January and we'll probably sell a few players with the promise of the money being spent in the summer when the right one is available. They won't drop many points and we've given them a huge opportunity now to pull away. There is still half the season left and anything can happen but I just can't see past them. That's not me giving up, just being realistic that they have a huge advantage.

                          That’s fair

They are strong favourites. But - we have to be ready if they slip up. That starts with a win on Sunday.

City have been lucky not having their rhythmn disrupted by covid over the past few weeks, which has given them a massive advantage, facing teams completely disrupted by it and their main challengers being affected by it.
                            Are we winning?

Chelsea has now become a must win

what i saw over and over again from us was our forward line running at their back line while the man on the ball dallied and lost his chance to play them in, leaving the team in limbo while they all came back onside and tried to find space again. that started early in the 1st half but it got worse all night. there was one late on when the ball came to firmino and he had both mane and jota hitting the seam at the edge of the box and couldn't get turned around fast enough to play it through. their line was flat and we had them. as jurgen said, we just didn't seem like ourselves. even ourselves lately. the ball just isn't coming fast enough.

i thought matip was miles away our best player going forward which, i'm happy to have him there, but that's sad.
