    AND there's more...

Losing our two top scorers half way through the season to the AFCON
Nursing our best defender back to full match fitness throughout the season
Integrating an 18 year old (perhaps prematurely) then seeing him badly injured
Dealing with the deaths of two parents (Klopp's and Alisson's)

I know all teams will have issues that I don't know about because I don't follow them but the above are pretty big deals even just by themselves!
    It’s definitely not done

Whilst the odds are against West Ham taking points off Man City, it’s not impossible.

If that happens, as long as we win against Southampton that would take it to the last day of the season where City would need a win against Villa to guarantee them the title. There is potentially a fantastic epilogue to Stevie’s relationship with LFC, just waiting to be written.

Klopp asked us to be ‘believers’ and after what he has done for this club, I think this is the very least we can give him.

    Believe

If WH and Villa both scrap their way to draws, and we win both, then the league is ours?

A loss and a win for city and it comes down to GD?

        Sadly, we're no Bristol Rovers
If West Ham beat City and Villa get a draw then we're champions (assuming we win both out games of course).

If West Ham beat City and Villa lose then we need to hope that it's only by 1 goal and in turn hope we batter Southampton and Wolves to claw back the goal difference.

If City beat West Ham then it switches around to hoping Villa beat City.

All we can do is focus on winning games, scoring as many goals as we can and seeing what happens. Would be nice to take it into the final day though, just to make City sweat a bit longer.

Would also be nice for Salah to put his scoring boots back on. In danger of being overtaken by Son at this rate!

Imagining the below happening and we win it on goals scored.

        West Ham 1 : 0 City
        City: 1: 0 Villa
        Southampton 0 : 4 Liverpool
        Liverpool 3 : 0 Wolves

        City Points: 92
        Liverpool Points: 92

        City GD = 72
        Liverpool GD = 72

        City GS = 95
        Liverpool GS = 96

I’d accepted it the other night.

But the Aguerooooooo! anniversary stuff today has made the thought creep back into my mind.

Would be incredible if we somehow did it on the final day like that.

Would obviously require some chaos in both of City’s games. Their equivalent of a Gerrard slip against West Ham. A Crystanbul against Villa.

Pie in the sky, but **** it. Have to dream.

The miracle result and title delivered by Stevie.
I always think of the day Blackburn won it, that was similar. Man U just could not score v West Ham. It's all but done but just that faint slither. It's pretty much impossible I agree. Either way next time we play in the League either the miracle is on, or the League is won.

Being top scorer in a Quadruple winning team will do that anyway

He’ll still get a short break post AFCON before beginning the next season, rather than going straight back into the middle of the campaign like this year. It’ll be a breeze compared to what he’s just done.

That said, if he could sack off the international football, that’d be ideal.
A "short break" post AFCON won't be enough after slogging away in the Ivory Coast heat for a month. Plus he's not getting any younger. Wear and tear of a career based on hard sprinting is not something to be taken lightly.

I wasn’t aware I was taking anything lightly. It was more about reasons to be optimistic about the spread of his playing load compared to what he’s endured this season.

                                Agree to disagree.
