Frustrating that West Ham didn't win it, but we'd have taken this result before the game. It means if we can get a win at Southampton we go into the final day with a chance. And it seems unlikely to go to GD (requires City to lose and us to win one and draw one).

It's in City's hands but you imagine that if we win Tuesday doubts could creep in for them. I think seeing us win the Cup in the manner we did, them miss a pen that would more or less have sealed it for them, and them coming up against an LFC legend probably needing a win, you could imagine doubt creeping in and them thinking it is set up for us, if they start thinking about all this stuff then who knows....

I don't think it would have made much of a difference if West Ham would have won?

All we need from Villa is for them to not lose (provided we win our two games).

I think the draw is basically as good as a defeat, if they lost we'd still need them to drop points vs Villa because it would be pretty difficult to catch their GD. This way we won't be pressured to get a huge scoring win either.

Win against Southampton, then pray for a miracle in the last round. At least Villa is a better opponent than Brighton was a few years ago when we had this exact situation almost.

It would have as City would need to win their game against Villa AND hope we didn't batter Southampton and Wolves to put the GD in our favour. Now they don't need to worry about GD as long as they win against Villa. Slight difference but an important one.

A draw was a great result for them, depending on what way they look at it- takes it out of our hands, win the last game and they win it…

But, I’m not sure they’ll see it that way, especially after the missed penalty… they’ll be worried going into the last game, their defense is there to be gotten at, down to its bones and seen Laporte came out in the second half with his knee strapped and was holding it during the half. coutinho to slip ings through to get a 90th minute equalizer and gerrard to run onto the pitch, after the crowd giving him dogs abuse all game!! Would be the best ever..

              They are total bed ****ters!!!

They will be bricking it now, the penalty miss at the end highlights this

It is now a very good season imo.

Win one of the two other pots we are in with a chance of and it becomes an amazing season.

Win the remaining two and it becomes a season that none of us may see done again by this club, or any other club for that matter, during our lifetimes.

I don't want to be a miserable git but a shootout wouldn't have suited us, if they had lost by a goal today their GD advantage would have been 6, even a 1 goal win on the last day would have seen us need to win our 2 games by 3 or 4 goals, which given how we've been in front of goal recently seems unlikely, if they win their last game by more than one it's more, that scenario was always a pipe dream IMO

Everton could still go down if Leeds and Burnley could grab a win

What happens if they draw their last game and we win our two?

It's fine to think the worst will happen, but we've got to believe as this was and there's still a lifeline.
                        Are we winning?

Southampton lost heavily to Chelsea very recently so always possible to score 4 or 5 against them. Wolves are conceding quite a bit too. Not that it's relevant now but I think a couple of 4-0 results would have been do-able albeit unlikely.

Everton are safe man, don't do it to yourself! Haha!

They may lose all their remaining games but the fact is Leeds shat the bed with consecutive red cards and Burnley should have changed manager a few games earlier!

We can still laugh at them for nearly getting relegated though!

Absolutely no point in giving up now.

This is what it’s all about. Yes it’s likely City will win their last game. But all it takes is some nerves and a draw for that not to happen.

We just have to give ourselves a chance so that if they do drop points in the final game then we are able to take advantage.

Stevie will 100% have Villa up for this.
