There is no need to sell so if they do i think the price will reflect that as well as his numbers and the fact he is English with PL experience.

I agree he would not be cheap, but it would be as he is on the back of two good seasons in a row in the PL and looks tailor made for us.

Might depend on whether we want him or not (and have a need for him) plus how willing West Ham are to bring in some cash.

They might well look at him and Rice and think we could get 150m+ for those two and be able to bring in four first teamers.

Bit like how we might look at Mo or Mane, should one of them look to leave this summer, and think we might be able to get the sort of fee for one of them that could bring in two players or at least come close to paying for two incoming players.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Lazy? You think his mentality has just changed all of a sudden and decided to be a cunt of a player?

      Sure.

He might look to be in decline compared to the player he was for us a few years ago, but being lazy is something that he could never be accused of being on the pitch. Unless you meant lethargic looking/ off the pace when you said lazy of course.

Do have a feeling that one of him or Origi are going to chip in with something big over the next three games. Just feels set up for something like that to happen.

I think it comes down to what their ambitions are (both the club and the players). Even if they get huge fees which they reinvest selling your two best players is a massive gamble for West Ham to sell both Bowen and Rice, if the club are willing to invest money in the squad without selling either or both then they might believe they can properly challenge for Europe and/or a cup. Bowen has only been at West Ham a couple of years so presumably there is no need for them to sell him, although he is 25 so might think a move in the next year or two is his only real chance of playing at the top level.

Given how we operate in the transfer market I would be surprised if we spent £70m+ on Bowen. He looks a player who would be suited to our style of play if one of Mane or Salah leave, but we have tended to only pay that kind of money for players who would be game changing in their position (VVD & Alisson) with all due respect to Bowen I don't think he falls into that category, I think he is probably in the Jota type category, someone who could come in to the first team and do a good job, I think if he was available for £40-50m we'd be all over that, but at more than that I don't see us going for him.

Dont forget city have a week to prepare while villa have 3 days. Last 4 times they've played together Villa have lost all of them. One of them was like 6-1. I'm not expecting anything but it would be nice. Just furious we had to screw up against tottenham.

Well you never know, Villa have Coutinho now so anything can happen!

If they fancy it then they have Mings who could go beast mode for one day, Coutinho to break the press, Watkins to harry and lay on chances, Ings could only get better and McGinn who is really crafty and hard working with a wonder shot.

And of course Gerrard. City should never have allowed it to get this far. Imagine if we were 14 points ahead and suddenly needed to beat (not draw with) this Villa team led by Pellegrini. We would be bricking it.

Wasnt it last season where City had a ridiculous, clearly offside goal, awarded for them at Villa?

Yes, it was so bad that PGMOL changed their guidance to referees on how the offside rule should be interpreted. Effectively a rule change mid season, after City had benefited from the old version.

Then there’s the penalty they got to win vs Wolves earlier this season for an armpit ‘handball’, the penalty they got away with vs Everton for the clearest handball in history.

It’s astonishing how much **** like this goes in their favour, year in year out.

I think he is a level above where Jota was when we got him. His underlying stats are much better than those of Jota at Wolves, he scores closer to Salah and Mane on those and certainly matches both Salah and Mane in terms of underlying stats from the last season of each before coming to Liverpool.

His goal and assist return the past two seasons in the league (20 goals and 23 so far as this season is not over) are better than those of Jota during his final two seasons with Wolves (16/11) as well so he would be coming in at a higher price than Jota did anyway to my thinking and that is even before any extra for him being English. Do think he would be in the 60m to 70m bracket though and not in the 70m+ range.

Do think though that if Salah wer to leave this year that he would be a good replacement. Not a Salah level player, not yet anyway and maybe not ever, but could be an 80% of Salah level player which would still be a hell of a player plus his return this season is not a million miles off of that of Salah from the exact same position on the pitch and both being left footers in that position as well.
