1st half I thought we were the better side, Firmino had a really good game in and out of possession, his pressing was back and he got beyond their midfield line numerous times as did Elliott. We created a couple of good chances and opportunities 1st half but squandered them

2nd half to me was too slow, our passing was slow and it frequently allowed Chelsea to get back in shape (it was Brendanesque for me). Our play then became conjested and I thought Elliott started taking up space that Salah and Trent would normally occupy. When Salah comes inside it's designed to open up channels for Trent to use out wide but Salah was running into areas Elliott was and or Trent was going into areas where Harvey had moved into. Tactically v Burnely Elliott worked, 1st half yesterday it worked, 2nd half he didnt. I was surprised Klopp didnt change that

Everyone in the League has dropped points so far, this is gonna be a competitive season
Elliot was brilliant in the 1st half I thought but I’ve got to say I was amazed the boss started him. I’d have gone with Naby who has been solid so far & id get the miles out of him before the inevitable injury comes.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

You're lack of self awareness is astounding sometimes Nigel. Probably best to make sure you actually read what I say before you post the wrong things, as you seem to do so often about me. Also, you should probably cut out the est white knight act and stop telling people how to support their team

So what I actually said was, it was a terrible result considering they were down to 10 men for half the game and playing at packed Anfield. I never said it was a disaster or the world will end. There is nothing hyperbolic in saying that we played poorly and blew a brilliant chance to get 3 points against genuine title contenders.

I noticed Trent was coming more inside and practically playing as a midfielder at times when Chelsea camped inside their half. Seemed to me we were trying new things but not getting there. In hindsight Tsimikas probably should have started and it would have been nice if Bobby had lasted the game so we could have subbed Mane off.

Disappointed not to have won but few teams can pry open Chelsea camping like this tbh, they are probably the best team in world right now at shutting up shop.
          * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Meanwhile, we're relying on an 18 year old to play 90 against the Champions of Europe, Mane hasn't been right for a year, Firmino for nearly 2 years and Origi is still on the books while they try and get an extra million or two for him.

The squad is weak and that's on the owners. Klopp is an honorable man so I expect him to leave when his contract is up and the front three are in their 30s. FSG are coasting, they don't have the drive to push the club achieve its full potential.
A disgrace is a bit strong, but it's hard to disagree with anything you've said. I definitely think investment was needed in the squad for this season.

We could not sustain our early second half tempo yesterday when we threatened to blow them away. Chelsea deliberately slowed down the game after that, as they tried to slow us down with each opportunity, time wasting, simulating injury etc. We just could not get back to our intensity after that.

1-1 is hardly a bad result against these lot, home or away. We need to move on from that. It’s too early to read anything anyway, a few players are not at the same level of fitness as well, so could have affected our drop off in the second half. No big deal.
              Are we winning?

Sorry but you do go on the hyperbole. You’re not the only one but you’re probably one of the worst. Some of the stuff I’ve read yesterday was pathetic ffs.

Case in point “blew a brilliant chance to get 3 points against title contenders” is not really accurate as it’s not always the case you beat a team with 10 players, even more so a team so good at defending and as good as Chelsea. We could have played better in parts for sure and some players were not at their best, but same could be applied to some Chelsea players. Lukaku hardly looked like a £97m player yesterday, but more like a flat track bully with a poor touch.

Trent came inside a lot v Burnley (Manes goal)

Nah man, you just cannot let people support their team their own way. You trying to be the est monitor all the time is pathetic and condescending. Just leave it alone man.

We did not play well enough and blew a great opportunity to get one over on our rivals when they were in a weakened position. How on earth is that pathetic or hyperbole? Its the truth, nothing is a given ffs but having a team down to 10 men for half the game in a packed Anfield is a great position to be in and gives you a fantastic opportunity to take advantage.

We did blow a brilliant chance though. Playing against 10 men for a half of football and creating absolutely **** all is just poor.

Thats not even mentioning Hendo's shocking miss early on. Bloke has zero composure in front of goal.
