CBF don't even need to back down. The authorities just need to advise that normal rules don't apply during Covid, much in the same way normal rules didn't apply during the Argentina game.
So many difficult decisions have had to be made in the last 18 months, this seems like a relatively easy one.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Almiron cleared to play for Newcastle. Not sure if Paraguay withdrew their request for a ban or it was overruled, but surely won't be ling before ours reaches the same conclusion. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

From what I've read, UK on Brazil red list so anyone travelling from here needs to declare it and quarantine for 14 days when there.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostIt all feels ridiculously punitive to stop the players from playing.
I'm not all over this story at all, but wasn't the Brazil game cancelled because of COVID anyway?
What I assume is that players can get an exemption (otherwise why bother calling them up?), but the 4 Argentines didn't request one, instead lied that they hadn't come from a red country.
To me, they are the real c*nts in all this, deciding to ignore all advice and travel freely between red countries. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

No one should be travelling to red list countries for any reason, especially a game of football. And just because they are some sort of elite athlete is no excuse.
For fifa to think football can trump governments and pandemics just shows how up their own arse they are!removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Remember that these rules were relaxed for a while lastvseason so that clubs didn't have to release players if they would have to quarantine for more than 5(?) days on their return a few months ago, then FIFA ended that relaxation which is obviously what has led to this situation.
I could be wrong, but I think that the bans will stand because FIFA chose not to extend the relaxation when they had a chance to do so (this situation has been speculated about for a few months so it isn't a surprise) I don’t see them relaxing the rules again retrospectively . I think that the only chance of them playing is if Brazil withdraw the ban request, and I suspect that will only happen if the players are able to obtain exemptions for the international breaks in October and November. Hopefully I am wrong and people at FIFA see sense but I'm not holding my breath on that...The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
