What’s the thinking in playing a left back in a 3 man midfield?

Don’t we have Jones and potentially Milner available?

Defender but excellent attacker and great delivery. Brentford will sit deep and try to grind it out, gives us another attacking option to break them down. Interesting shout imo. Milner will start imo.

I wonder is Jurgen looking further ahead to the City game with Naby and Thiago???

Maybe, although Brentford have been tough opposition for teams so we can't take the lightly.

Great delivery, from the flank. He can’t cross from more central positions though.

Thinking how Gini and more recently Naby have operated there, can he do all the other things required from LCM?

Not so sure Brentford will be so passive either. They play a pressing game and will look to attack off that and on the counter.

That’s true, everyone knows Norwich is a green and pleasant land, full of lush turf. We should’ve seen the grass attack injury potential coming a mile off.

Mate of mine has been following Brentford for a good few years, he’s charted their gradual promotion up the leagues. Was speaking to him yesterday and he reckons Brentford are a proper fluid, attacking, footballing side. He doesn’t think they’ll change and certainly doesn’t expect them to sit deep or try to grind it out. He could be wrong of course, but he’s convinced that they’ll come out to attack and make it a footballing encounter. Which is also the reason he thinks we’ll out-football them and win comfortably.

No doubts Milner will start but I do like the look of Timmy at LCM against low block sides, both lads bombing forward and back relentlessly. You could also argue that Robbo & Timmy will occupy the same spaces so that's why it'll never happen.

Brentford average about 7 shots on goal in their 5 matches played and that's without playing any top sides. They are a huge side, very physical, very well organised and hard working.. I can only see them sitting deep and absorbing crosses in the box. I've been quite impressed with them so far. IMO the more guile and craft we have vs these the better. We've seen the same problem last season were teams are happy to sit deep and hope that maybe they might nick a goal on a set piece.

He'd know more than me but judging by their league performances so far this season, they are solid and well organised and don't create much going forward reading the data. It was a recipe for success vs us last year for several lesser sides.

He might be wrong. Or maybe they’ll just change their style against us.

I hope he’s correct though because if they make it a football match, we should batter them.

I really hope that will be the case and they'll be open but imo that's exactly why they won't... as we will absolutely destroy them. For me, they will set up solid, clean up the high balls in the box and they'll be very physical/cynical. That fella Pontas Jannson is an absolute prick too, wind up merchant. An early goal would be lovely

They sound a bit Leeds like according to your mate. They did get beat by Brighton at home too.

To be fair Norb's question deserves an answer. It did get pretty toxic at times. Neil Young annoys me....basically hounded out of here.

Klopp does my head in with that kind of stuff. We've already lost our two creative mids....so he goes and plays our most brittle one in a meaningless game. Baby was always going to get injured. Murphy's law.

Same thing with Jota last season, which absolutely ****ed us (and him)
