I think we've become used to injuries being played down and when someone's out expecting it to be months rather than weeks. Not sure we were a million miles away from a midfield crisis but it looks much better now

And Jones. We've had a pretty damaged midfield already this season with extensive injuries to the 3 that started today, and both of the players who replaced 2 of them

The common concern about the midfield has been over the availability/reliability within the group, not the size of the group.

I think those concerns have already been validated this season too. We’ve had a number of below par performances/results that have corresponded with when our midfield options have been limited.

Still Jones and Elliot to come back as well as Naby.

I said that in the match thread with 20-30mins to go, 4-0 up at home with another game mid week I'd have thought it was the perfect opportunity to give Mane and Salah half an hour off.

But then we'd have too many midfielders when they're all fit, and an unhappy squad.
