What an absolute load of ****e that was. Tierney deserves hanging. Incompetent doesn't even do it justice.
Kane's tackle is a red all day long, has been all season. Off the ground, studs up, misses the ball full force into a players legs. As dangerous as it gets.
The Jota non-pen, FFS. How can that not be a pen? People will argue Matip got away with one, but they are very different incidents on replay. Matip was a just bit clumsy, Jota got completely taken out by an out of control player.
Robbo's red was a joke. It was wild, but hardly dangerous. You could argue the Spuds player actually instigated the contact as he's the one that puts his leg across as Robbo is swinging for the ball. It was a wild swing, but you need to look at the full play not just Robbo kicking him. If anything its more dangerous for Robbo as you could easily snap your leg in half kicking against a planted leg like that. See it in that **** MMA everyone loves all the time.
I saying all that, we were utter crap. We managed to make Dele Ali look good, let Kane score and made Winks look like Pirlo FFS. Our midfield was awful. Felt sorry for Morton, he was on a hiding to nothing playing with a 50yr old and a cripple.

There really is no comparison between the two incidents with Kane an Robbo. Kanes challenge is a potential bone crunching, career ender if Robbo doesn’t jump - all Kanes full body momentum is behind it.
Robbos was a wild swing of a boot, it only ever had the weight of his leg behind it so would be a potential bruise at best.

I was screaming that's a red at the Kane challenge in real time, with each view of the replay it gets worse, while I can understand (and accept) that refs can make mistakes, I don't understand how the VAR official can see that challenge and not tell the ref to take a look on the video monitor. That is a clear error by the officials.
The penalty is down to a failure of the rules and the limitations of VAR and the ****ness of the referee. The on field ref sees contact (and decides that Jota was playing for it
) Given that information it is almost impossible for VAR to give the pen.
They pretent VAR is effective but it really isn't it got 2 major decisions wrong because of the way it is used.
