Oo, I wonder if if it's one of our African players whether they'd be able to go to the Afcon. Might be a blessing in disguise

If the rule is anyone who has featured in a PL match by my count we have 24 outfield players who qualify, to have a game postponed we would need to have 12 outfield players out (or not have a GK) to have a game postponed. According to the PL injury table we have 5 players currently injured, Robertson suspended and now 3 guys out with Covid (if they are all outfield players) that takes us to 9. With 3 guys about to go away to the ACN another outbreak with similar numbers and current injury levels, could see us have games postponed later in January...The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think the rule is fine, essentially treating Covid as any other illness or injury scenario seems sound, but there needs to be transparency and oversight by the FA/PL to avoid shenanigans.Originally posted by frank the tank View Post**** sake. It feels like that "if you have 13 players, then play the game" rule is bull****. Some teams have bigger squads ffs.

I think that for transparency it should be clear which players for each club fall into the eligibility category and which players are unavailable so that we know that everyone is being treated equally. We don't know what is causing games to be postponed for certain clubs.
For example I suspect that some clubs could be taking advantage of the 'played in the PL' part of the rule. They might have players that were happily registered in their 25 man squad as senior players, but as they haven't played in the league can more easily help them get games postponed. I could be wrong, but...The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Also out of curiosity what are the EFL rules, thinking back to our EFL Cup game within a day of the World club Cup a couple of years ago, would these rules stop something similar happening again? The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think the consideration for non Covid related injury is open to abuse. Eg Player ‘feels something’ in his hamstring in training so is out injured for a massage or two.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostI think that for transparency it should be clear which players for each club fall into the eligibility category and which players are unavailable so that we know that everyone is being treated equally.
