In any case, I don’t think we’ll be throwing the towel just yet. It does look difficult yes, but all we need to worry about is to get some wins under our belt and then we’ll see where we’re at.
It is a decent time to have a few weeks break from League matches.

We were in really good form until the initial COVID outbreak before the Spurs match, it has definitely hampered our season.

Ox was useless. His only meaningful contribution was to fk up a counyer attack. FSG need to get some money out in the summer. The model of selling players for megabucks amd funding rebuilds is broken.

We were gifted the first goal, and their first was a world class fluke. The other two goals were decent. With two slow old men in midfield, it’s not too depressing to concede to a strong Chelsea eleven away from home. It’s not these results that get to me, it’s the points dropped against the likes of Brentford, brighton and Leicester that really piss me off.

I thought we played quite well second half.

Much better second half. Don’t think we’d have drawn that had we controlled it until half time. Missed someone to calm things down in the middle today. I think the idea of Milner there was to do that but Chelsea played exceptionally well and never allowed us time and space.

1 point away at Chelsea isn’t a bad result, but I’m the big picture it ain’t great due to the points difference up top.
          Are we winning?

That's all true, but it doesn't help when some of our regulars have been so average and below par for some time now. We should've built and refreshed the squad last season, but as it is, Klopps going to be leaving a wet bonfire.

Its a ****er though, because to beat City to the title you have to be basically perfect and drop no points at all. In the old days every team would fail to win the odd away game.

They just rotate like for like players and seem to get absolutely zero injuries ever. Throw in that teams dont even try to beat them and it just ends up a procession for them.

They can even afford to spend £100m on the likes of Grealish and it to not really work out

FWIW Chelsea aren't too far behind City in resource. No Lukaku or Werner. £150m worth of talent and they still have another £150m worth of player with the likes of Havertz and Pullisic to call on.

Our business model was set up for FFP, and there is no FFP. There is creative accountancy.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

But we can always laugh at Everton. 1 win in 12, 8 defeats in 11, and 3 points out of the last 36 available.

They’ve ****ed it - this side should be good enough for a couple more titles but unless you get mid 90s you can’t beat them. The year we won it they bottled when chasing but they are excellent front runners. Too many good players, too much money and without us the league would be like Bayern or PSG

And to be fair, we could have been playing with ten men for 90+ minutes. Mane’s elbow was a bit of a shocker. Very close to catching him full in the face with the point of his elbow.

Not writing the league off just yet… but in fairness, this will be our best chance with this squad to win it again as Chavs now have a decent manager and Newcastle will spend ridiculous amounts in the summer transfer window like City did initially to try and salvage some credibility instead of just being a super, mega-rich club.

Serious refresh needed in the summer for us… doubt we’ll see any spending whatsoever in the Jan window. Much as I think we need some cover for midfield and AFCON… shame really.

Newcastle are years away from winning anything, but I agree with the rest. Utd will be better next season, Arsenal too.
