What happened to our support in the stadium today? It sounded like a funeral compared to their supporters

Always the case in these games. Their cup final, way bigger allocation than normal, and we're just not that arsed. Lunchtime kick offs never help either. Sad really but Anfield is a morgue for most games bar the big European nights and the biggest league games.Originally posted by SB View PostWhat happened to our support in the stadium today? Watching from home, it can depend on how the mics are set up in the stadium and how the broadcaster mixes the sound.
I was watching a couple of feeds for a game a few weeks ago (might have been Palace). I couldnt believe the difference in the noise. The sky or bt version was really subdued, whereas the foreign feed sounded really atmospheric.
I couldnt believe how the domestic broadcaster would not want the crowd to sound lively and passionate, over their inane commentary. In the beginning, Fowler created the Heaven and the Earth.

How does that work?Originally posted by Charly View PostWatching from home, it can depend on how the mics are set up in the stadium and how the broadcaster mixes the sound.

Is it not the case that the broadcasters take the sound / video feed provided by Sky / BT and they add their own commentary?

That’s such a shame hey. You guys are spoilt with good football.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostAlways the case in these games. I’d be singing at every opportunity if I was there.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

I find it can be a bit like a morgue sometimes as well...... when the team need it though, it can ramp up in league games too. I remember the Rodgers nearly year and the atmosphere really ramped up then.
Against Arsenal earlier this year we expected to win easily and it was only when it kicked off with Arteta and Jurgen did the crowd ramp it up.
It's crazy then the difference in the european nights.......

I guess you can vary the balance between the volume of crowd/background noise and the level of the microphones of your commentators??Originally posted by spud_gun View PostHow does that work?

The odd occasions I have been up there (all midweek, no chance of getting a weekend game) it's been a library. They were PL games and all. Sometimes I could hear my own voice reverberate around the section I was in. My mate would get embarrassed and tell me to sit down.Originally posted by SB View PostThat’s such a shame hey. Ah, Anfield nights.
One tit for another.
