Didn't Hoddle say during commentary that Salah had already taken the shot so it's not a foul, or words to that effect, surely that is the epitome of a late tackle and should have been a penalty.

It is, and it seems to be just a convention, but I’m largely in favour of it. The war on defending has gone far enough and last ditch tackles are awesome to watch. If all ‘follow through’ situations become fouls and pens then the game will become too sterile. If it’s a genuine and realistic attempt at getting to the ball then it has to be allowed imo, in the same way we don’t want goals disallowed because of contact with keepers after a glorious sliding volley.

Yeah I get all that and don't massively disagree. But on some occasions those last ditch tackles are just massively reckless, both from defenders and keepers on occasion, and should therefore be punished as such IMO.

...was at the game last night, sat just behind away dugout. Some numptey in the row in front kept cheering Robbo just cos he's Scottish. Tsimikas as we all know is miles better...

Apart from that, it was a decent game to watch.

None of the above is true.

Nice one Buzzo - pity you didn’t get chips in the lobster pot for the full Liverpool experience
